H we all love you on here, but I haven't seen much to think things are getting better, let alone "better and better". I still think Richard Collinge will be a big miss and who the hell is Tony Laughlan??????
thanks Elixir...um..i have to admit, i posted that when i thought we were going to have a Left Back tonight...i'm retracting at least one of those 'better's ...
Elixir, I'm a little confused why you are picking up on a comment by H which was made earlier today when we believed we were in a good position to sign Wiggins (which we are aware is no longer happening!) and then comment on the appointment of our new additions to the back-room staff? Did you get confused with which thread you were replying to?
The thing is, at least they are trying to sign people, even though we're having to make backroom staff changes as well. You could argue it's not our fault Wiggins chose Charlton over us (Money??) Loaness won;t come in until nearer the end of the window anyway, and a lot of the frees will wait as long as possible because they will want the best deal for them, so will belike an auction! Hopefully the new guys will bring some knowledge of their former clubs and might pick out a gem or two to bring in!
Oh yes I have no doubt Dyche is trying his absolute hardest to sign his traget players, after chasing Wiggins hard since March (the rumour is Bournemouth accepted our 4th offer), the deal falls down clearly on wages. What happens with Dyche's next target? Dyche has a transfer budget to buy and loan players. We need a mix of decent pros signed permanently and then supplemented by a couple of top loans, but look at the calendar, pre season has now started and Dyche has big gaps to fill. I only hope the money doesn't burn a hole in Dyche's pocket as this is what happened with Ellington 4 years ago. SD cannot work any harder than he is at present.
