Why do we have another manager mumbling away in some incomprehensible accent ?

I suppose it's regarded as more glamourous and modern to have an overseas coach rather than a British one, but there again is there one good enough for us?

I became convinced Sherwood had to go when I heard a number of different people say a number of players said they would leave if he didn't. Whether anyone likes it or not (and few do), player power means coaches have got to get along with (coddle, appease, etc.) their very rich young players.

I regretted him leaving in that he'd gotten us winning and scoring goals. I'm starting to have a little hope Pochettino will play 2 strikers and imitate Sherwood's success at the end of the season.

Sherwood was hype over substance imo.
We were 3 down to west brom in late april ... then there was the abject loss at west ham, the 2 4 nil losses to pool and chelsea, the 5 1 loss to city...then there was that shocking performance v norwich where we lost 1 nil...the last NLD where we waited until the 85th minute to make their keeper make a save...losses the poor performances and results in the cup games bar the 2 all draw with benfica.
We were lucky to beat everton...that was daylight robbery...it was as unjust a result as our loss at home to newcastle...and we had a lot of luck when we beat palace and were poor v cardiff when we won 1 nil.
Thats without the **** of him being an embarassing prick on the touch line rowing with managers and even opposing players.
He had 6 noticable wins...the 2 wins v Southampton, the win over man utd (their worse season in a generation), the 4 nil win over a **** newcastle team, the 5-1 win over a poor sunderland team before they turned it round and a 3 nil win over villa who managed to be more **** than newcastle.
I am glad he is nowhere near my club

Mourinho, Wenger and SAF never treated their players like Sherwood did.

Lee Sharpe begs to differ: he says Ferguson treated him like **** his entire Man Utd career.

Had Fergie been on the receiving end of the loss away at Chelsea he'd have been straight on at the referee for the penalty and red card, blaming the pitch for Vertonghen's slip and doing whatever he could to deflect the blame away from his side, regardless of what was said behind closed doors.

Sherwood never had anything constructive to say, he questioned the desire of players and criticised them after every loss whilst accepting none of the blame himself, despite us starting every game slowly as we had no tactical plan. I'm glad we're rid of him.

I find it bizarre that people consider a manager questioning what more the players could have done after a defeat to be less "constructive" than him blaming the ref, the pitch etc !

You dont think fergie had a go at his players after a defeat as well ?

Sherwood questioned the attitude of Sandro, he was proved right.

He questioned the attitude of Verts, he has been proved right.

He has given us Kane and Bentaleb who fans now rate as top prospects and Mason was another player Sherwood spoke highly of.

Also Sherwood said Chadli would become an important goal scorer once he settled and amazingly he has been proved right!

Plus Sherwood also said "we don't always have to look elsewhere for players" and again he has been proved right considering how crap some of the signings are and been upstaged by youth players.

He may have been too honest at times and naive with his words, but he was thrown in at the deep end, a young naive manager trying to speak up for himself and all done with the highest win percentage of any spurs manager, not bad for a "berk"!

Sorry boss but lots of us questioned vertongens attitude in november when he started the 'I deserve CL footie' ****...it was not hard to spot.
Sandro aint been shown to have an attitude problem as far as I know....thought he was sold as he is seen to be an injury waiting to happen.
If sherwood rated mason so highly why wasnt he played?
He said chadli could do what we bought him to do...again ... hardly einstein is it?

I get you have a high opinion of him but your view is at least as one sided as mine. (I aint preuming to speak for others)
His win record is bollocks cos it dont include the cup matches....6...1 win, 1 draw and 4 losses.
His talked bollocks too..claimed if his record was repeat over the whole season we would have been top 4...when in truth we'd have come 5th.
His behaviour on the side lines was an embarrassment....throwing his coat down like a petulant twat, throwing a ball a gooner player in theNLD, rowing with the benfica manager.
He had no convictions in his beliefs...spouted off about watching from the directors box gave him an insight into the match but when slaughtered for it after the anfield debarcle he spent the rest of the season on the touchline.
His tactics were poor as ****...3 down v west brom, the batterings against chelsea and city and liverpool...not to mention losing to west ham twice and the goons twice...
He agreed to sell defoe...could have promised him first team football in the run in to the world cup...and never replaced him.
Signed a contract with a clause that allowed us to end his contract at the end of the season and pretended he had an 18 month contract to imply he was being poorly treated.

As you can guess I am glad he's gone...maybe he aint as bad as I make out but he certainly aint as good as you make out.

The most telling fact is he aint managing...palace, west brom, man united and southampton all appointed manager after he left us...as have fulham, leeds and several other clubs...and he is not in management....that says a lot about his reputation within the game to me.

He may well have a good understanding of football and may become a good manager but he needs to improve massively imo.
