“They are the two best managers we’ve ever had at the football club without a shadow of a doubt.”

Hard to believe he was one of the favourite Championship managers to be sacked 13 months ago, now this! It's one extreme or the other!

As it happens, I agree, but I'm sure some of our older fans would question this.

Thanks Gangsta. Martin O'Neill won more silverware for us than any other manager. Jock Wallace probably provided the greatest fear factor. Matt Gillies secured our highest ever league position at season end. Jimmy Bloomfield produced the most exciting brand of football for us. Despite an horrendous blip from NP of matches without a win a couple of seasons ago, I am as excited now as much as I have ever been regarding our performances and future prospects. Top 2 managers? - depends what the criteria is, but the future is bright, the future is blue and white. I certainly havent witnessed a team spirit or togetherness from our club for many years, such as it is now.

NP can get us finishing in the top 10 imo as MO`N did. whether we do that this year I don´t know, but if Top sticks with him for many years to come, providing NP wants to stay, then He´ll keep building & with Kingpower at the helm, well the sky could be the limit.
Be great to win a cup (or 3) again but this season & next is all about survival.

    ^ All imo

Fair write up lads and i remember watching the likes of Izzet, Prior and Walsh back in the day. A very good side that was probably everyone's favorite underdog.

You used to have another HUGE centre back back then and i cant remember his name. the 2 biggest CB's in the league.
I was in London with my brother once when you were playing down here (there) and couldnt believe the size of him!! im gonna rack my brains now all night until i get this

    Wikki here i come

not sure you could compare the managers as they are so diffrent but the results look to be pretty similar <ok>

Edit- might have been Matt Elliot - diffrent team i know ! who did he play alongside?

Agree it is all about survival and for that reason I was 0% bothered by the Shrewsbury result. Butt, theoretically if we keep up this form, by the time the FA cup starts we could be a long way towards survival. We may penman not be but if we did have anything upwards of say 25 points by new year why not have a go!

... you are correct Gangsta ... the football we are playing at the moment is close to the best I've seen in all my years but the Jimmy Bloomfield team was incredibly entertaining and those that have watched for longer than I would cite the Matt Gilles team from earlier than that ... it's hard to compare in some regards ... but here's one telling stat - if you also count the 'just sold to Stoke' Shilton the Bloomfield team once had 4 England internationals playing in a competitive international match (against Scotland) Shilton, Weller, Worthington and Whitworth ... which was also testament to how good Leicester City were generally in the English first division at the time (because there were very few foreign players in the top flight)...
