Article in the times where they pick XI players out of Liverpool and Everton to form a Merseyside XI. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...st-XI-from-combined-squads.html?frame=3050695 What do you guys think? Do you agree with this or would you change anything?
i think meh... peopel are always at this kind of stuff... howard: yes in general he is by far the better keeper but this year he's been bad so far coleman: yes i would absolutely choose him. CBS: skertl and stones???? f no. sotnes aint done **** for that honor... jagielka has been awful this year and distin is ancient so.... skertl and lovern for me Baines? nah I'll tka ethe young turk. sure baines has been the best in the last 5? years on merseyside but he's past it now Gerrard: sure just to sicken the blue noses macf off... no chance. henderson all day every day. Sterling and barkely? sure why not? coutinho... eh no... Lukaku up top for me. sturridge... not hard that. I'd play a 4-1-2-1-2 formation. Prob ask barkely and henderosn to go box to box and sit sterling behind lukaku and sturridge. theres just no case to include coutinho or play 4-5-1 which this team was.
By Turk you mean Can? Isn't he a DM? Baines is a left back no? Would have to say Baines is better than any of your full backs I am afraid. Definitely agree with Henderson over McCarthy though
-------------- Howard -------------- ManQuill - Skirt - Lovren - Moreno -------------- Can ------------------ ------Hendo ------ Cout ----------- ------------ Sterling --------------- ------Studge ---- Telly ------------ Subs: Migs, Stones, Barkley, Gerrard, Lala, Lukaka, Sack-o. * Not sure Howard really belongs in the combined XI though... may swap him and Migs!
Assuming he means Moreno who is actually Spanish. Gerrard wouldn't get in. Barkley Henderson and McCarthy I'd have with sterling Lukaku and Sturridge ahead. Mig b Howard are both iffy keepers, might has youth on his side though. Baines at lb for me and Coleman rb, best pair of full backs in the league. CBS is a toss up. All 5 are a but iffy but cbs is all about a partnership so would be hard unless you tried them all together in different partnerships. Maybe Lovren and 1 other.
Seriously, I do like Barkley, and he is predestined to play for Liverpool some day. Problem is... he wouldn't get in ahead of Sterling at the moment- and we do best with two up front... our best formation... so would you play Barkley further back? Or change formation to one that we don't do as well with?
If you think after a couple of league games that Moreno and Manquillo are a better pair of fullbacks than Coleman and Baines, then you're on crack.
Have to agree with Tobes to be honest folks, Sorry. I know I have only seen M&M play a couple of games so far, but from what I have seen, they haven't looked very good at all. Coleman and Baines on the other hand, are both very good. EDIT: Despite being pants so far, Manquillo is still an upgrade on Johnson so...
You can hardly talk either Manc!! Even my teams defence has been mediocre to downright missing so far this season at times. Seems the PL has forgotten how to defend
Howard's recent form is an absolute disgrace and probably only the glory of "losing heroically" at the World Cup has kept him from being slaughtered by every pundit Jagielka is also lucky the fact he's absolutely **** has gone largely unnoticed Stones has done **** all in his career so far As a #neutral there's no one from Everton I would want right now If Sturridge is injured then maybe Lukaku could make our bench
Really? Manquillo over Coleman? Moreno over Baines? If Sturridge is injured Lukaku could make your bench? So you would take Lambert over Lukaku? Come on, Liverpool have a better side overall I would say, but you cannot doubt there are 2 or 3 Evertonians who would improve your First XI.
I wouldn't take any of Everton's defenders right now If Sturridge is injured I would play 433 with Balotelli as ST so no Lukaku starting
