Its odd. My team doesn't really have that sort of rivalry with another club, not like that. I sometimes envy other clubs that have rivalries like that, but then I look at some of the bile involved in the United/Pool derby and the North London Derby especially, and it does get quite ugly. We have some spats with Leeds and QPR, but those teams are quite often not in the PL these days so
Not going to get drawn in to my reasons Bodanki, and it causes far too many problems, despite it being the truth on personal experiences. Leeds when they were in the prem were shall we say not my favourite team, but they didn't get near the depth of the other nameless side. It might be more constructive to move onto another topic rather than progress with this one
The Liverpool and Manchester rivalry isn't just about football, it's about two cities. A rivalry between two football clubs from the posh part of London could never compare, despite the fact that most of the fans of one club are from Essex.
One of my utd mates texted me after the Wham result asking "what's the score, pal". Needless to say, I responded likewise the following day. Talk about digging yourself a ****ing big hole
For me it is notning to do with the city or the people. I have always had a soft spot for Everton. They have won titles and have crushed United on occasions. But the RS and their fans are just c**ts. Their delusion has no limits and there is this myth that their fans are more knowledgeable than most. Makes you want to vomit
I was gonna say that to be honest. If it's a City thing, then surely United would sure the same animosity with Everton, and Liverpool with City, and Everton with City and so forth.
Im happy to see all english clubs bar united fail. Why would i want you to win? Ever? Except against Turkish clubs obviously.
Because its against foreign clubs, plus it boosts the profile of our league, and our leagues coefficient in the UEFA rankings. Spain > Turkey
Your absolutely spot on with that Christian. Everton fans are down to earth and realistic about their football, where the YSB's think they have a god given right to win the prem. I got my cup final ticket for United v Everton in 1985 on the day before the final, on the condition I drove down with 3 Everton fans. United won in extra time, and on the way back there was no bitterness or nastyness, just genuine comments about the game. Dread to think if that had been Liverpool fans. But on second thoughts, would I have driven 3 Liverpool fans to Wembley for a free ticket. Nope. Not a chance
We always get a great reception at Goodison Park. The rivalry is heightened by the fact that Liverpool and United have gone through periods of success but trust me, it goes beyond football.
This. I just cannot understand, not even for a second, why anyone would want to support another English club in Europe - let alone your biggest rivals. The ONLY time I wanted an English side to beat a European side was the 2009 semi-final when Chelsea were robbed of a chance of a rematch of the previous year's final. That literally is the ONLY time, and only because United were in the final.
