    IS...

Real threat to the UK or middle eastern bogeyman?

Are airstrikes needed or should the UK not back them?

I'd leave the Middle East to sort themselves out. However, I wouldn't let any UK Jihadists back into the country.

They're a very real threat as they are inspiring nutjobs to commit "legitimate" murder in the name of Islam. Blowing up buses, stabbing people in the street, hijacking planes. All considered honourable in the name of the cause. It's an unwinnable war as bombing the **** out of their newly formed state will only inspire more nutjobs to fight the war from the inside.

I made the mistake of watching one of the videos of that **** beheading a hostage. It's an image I will never forget and as long as I live I will never be able to comprehend how one human being can justify doing that to a complete stranger who has done nothing to offend them other than being born in a different country.

Whilst I say it's an unwinnable war it's definitely one worth fighting and I hope they do bomb the **** out of the bastards. There also needs to be more stringent policing in the UK. Why tolerate these ****s? Preach hate and murder in the name of a religion, go to jail. Simple as that.

I'd usually be against us getting involved. However, if it is genuinely the case that Iraq's Government is asking for global assistance then i think it would be wrong to refuse. The days of bombing and ransacking the ****e out of a country, pissing off and then telling the new regime, who you helped to install there, to **** of when they really need your help should be a thing of the past in my opinion.

Unfortunately we have little choice but to get involved. We can't just stay on our little island hoping the problems of the world pass us by. We helped to destabilise the region when we followed the yanks into Iraq in the first place. We now have a moral obligation to try and restore some sort of stability. Any action on the ground has to have UN backing though. We don't need to get involved in another illegal war for dubious aims.

Nevertheless a lot of ISIL's funding comes from Saudi Arabia.

We have much bigger threats to human life in this country, benefits cuts will cost more lives to be lost than IS will in this country.

Even if you consider the threat real dropping bombs is going to achieve very little other than blight the life's of the innocents that happen to live there who will then be rather more open to the idea of fighting the west.

Oh and we will soon be at war with Man City if we go down this route!
