You just want the 100 years to try playing catch-up with our record.
When the ban ended we'd still be England's most successful club in Europe though.

That may change depending on the outcome of the legal action. If uefa win then i expect them to come down much harder on sides. Not yourselves but those who took the legal action.

  10. Clearly says you're allowed to exclude stadium and training expenditure so the investigation will be into our claims that most of the loss was stadium related. I trust our owners so feel confident we will escape punishment :)

Not concerned in the slightest. Our owners know what they're doing financially and indeed, the bulk of their task the last few years has been working towards making us sustainable through cutting down on wages and increasing revenue. Once you exclude stadium costs, I'm pretty sure we're fine.

Isn't this just a rehash of story that was discussed in the rags when our accounts came out last time? So basically UEFA have done what they thought they would do if we got Europe this year and our owners will do what we thought they would do in response......

One of the reasons why FSG decided to buy Liverpool was the fact that FFP would be implemented, aimed at leveling the playing field (which is b*llocks as it keeps the rich richer and doesn't allow others to catch up!).

I'm very confident have thought about FFP well before they even bought the club so they will fully understand the rules in place.

We made approx £40m loss in each of the past 2 years, of which £50m relates to stadium write offs.

We were not FFP compliant last season, this is a process they will follow given we are not compliant and probably less compliant this season after the spending. We still have another year to get our **** straight

If we just kept the Suarez cash we'd be in the clear.

    This was expected

Exactly. I think it's just lip service to 'fair play for all' when in reality keeping the big clubs big is what UEFA want and they are just looking to be seen as doing something.

Surely uefa want all clubs to be big? Wouldn't they want a Man City version 2? More dosh for them. I understand ffp has the effect of keeping big clubs big, but not sure why Uefa would want to place a cap on the amount of big money clubs there are

  19. UEFA want as much money as possible so they will want the clubs that can attract the most interest. Of course, clubs like Man City who splash the cash to get the top players will attract the glory supporters too assuming they actually win things too.

I think they're trying to do something which seems fair - clubs having to balance their books in order to be allowed to compete in UEFA competitions - but they seem to have made it so complicated that I doubt even they understand their own rules.
