It's pretty difficult to read your lips when it's a post on a messageboard.

I think it's some sort of cipher and 'read my lips' is the clue to cracking the code.

I think its someone gently reminding you of the contents of his previous reply. However owing to his boundless generosity he will give you one more chance.

stick to the thread topic ffs.

If you want to talk about something else start your own.

Have you ever read a thread on here previously? Every single one ever goes off topic. It's just what happens.

Would it be impolite to suggest that you should have replied by PM if you didn't want people to show an interest in this public forum?

We might be in the top three as well.
I really do despair at some our own 'supporters' sometimes.

Why does what might be considered by some as a pessimisstic attitude make you despair and indeed question 'supporters'? If said supporters were vocally criticising players at a match you'd have a point, but nobody has suggested that will happen. Being a supporter is not about having blind faith and suggesting everything is absolutely ****ing brilliant despite that not being the case and therefore being concerned about our relative success does not make somebody less of a supporter.

I think the midfield has a problem in that you can't play all 3 of Diame, Huddleston and Livermore at the same time. It has to be 2 from the 3 for me and Diame has been fabulous so far. I like Livermore a lot, but the fact he played last night tells me that Bruce will drop him from the league team for now. I could be wrong, but I can see that happening to accomodate Ben Arfa especially.

And I can understand the views of the OP. Don't think its negative, just genuine concerned fan.

I think we will get a win against one of them teams we aren't expected to.

I think the problem is that with so many new players they are struggling to gel together and it could take up until Christmas before they start performing at the levels they can do.

I'd play Diame and Gaston and drop both Tom and Jake.

You could be right, I think they both could do with a good kick up the backside.

Yeah it's really hampering Southampton isnt it....?

I'd guess their squad has changed more than ours in terms of both incomings and outgoings.

Ther can be no denying that this season's first choice team, given the potential contributions of four very exciting deadline day signings, is significantly stronger than last season's. Yes, we may be in the bottom three after the next round of games but in such an increasingly unpredictable league I think that City have a better chance of taking more points from teams like Everton, Spurs, Liverpool (yes I know we beat them at home) and Man. Utd. than they did last time around. Last night's result was certainly disappointing but isn't really an indicator of our current league form so it's certainly not the time to start losing sleep over possible relegation - we've enjoyed a decent start to the season, are just starting to introduce some very high quality acquisitions and should all look forwards to the roller coaster ride.

I do think the gap between the bottom and 3rd from top has closed significantly this season. Unlike last season there now appears to be 2 standout teams, 17 average ones and one **** one (DQPR).

In truth, I'm worried all year, every season.

I expect defeat, every game, every season.

But, I keep my trap shut about it.

Stiff upper lip and all that.

    We defend by sitting back.

Others defend by keeping hold of the ball and completing sensible attacks that both waste time and maintain possession.

That is the difference - we're going to have to start winning 3-2 and 4-3 to get maximum points at this rate

I'd drop Livermore but not Huddlestone. Thudd's unnoticed contributions like breaking up play are very, very important.
