This is not news, we were not compliant last season either and we shelled out a few quid since some of which will be offset by CL money but jes, no surprise, this was expected

So Liverpool blew 35 mill on stadium plans alone????? with no actual building work done?

You have to be kidding me 35 mill. You could buy Andy Carol for that.

Oh, but you did. Wonder which was the biggest waste of money

Anyone else think FFP is a bit ****?

Come on, it's just ****ing bollocks, it's going to create a closed shop. The big get bigger and the small stay small. Good luck to the likes of City and Chelsea I say, bring it on, but the fact is without some coaching and scouting wizardry those teams without big crowds are simply never going to rise above their station and the likes of us with massive grounds and income generating machines will rarely be challenged.

    Is that sport?

Billionaires using clubs as toys also isn't sport.

So clubs are willing to work hard others look forma quick fix. Some dont care about tye cost of that fix. End of the day though, tye hard work always triumphs.

I agree with chief on this.

What FFP should do is stop clubs getting into debt spending money at the expense of destroying the club in the way Portsmouth did.

But the fact is if some random person with a **** load of money wants to buy Bristol city say. A city with a large population and potential big crowds and throw his own money at it why should that not be allowed? It's works against competition. People can buy businesses and throw money at them to make them bigger. Why can't that be done in football.

All it should do is stop clubs being ran irresponsibly and making unsustainable losses.

Pretty sure all industries have regulations to restrict unfair competition. Suppose this is footballs way of doing it. If you are a club in a big city and need a multi billionaire oil baron, you are doing it very wrong. Plus what about those clubs who dont get one. Or get some horror that near kills the club after he realises its not that easy?

    Arguments both way.

Competition regulations stop companies becoming so big they wrap up the market. Football is working in the opposite way so the big clubs can wrap up the market.

All small clubs dream would be a billionaire to sink some money in the club.

I thought UEFA had already done the numbers last year and we were not compliant but we were not in Europe and there was leway for us until next year.

Not that I have been paying that much attention but we were not compliant at the start of last season either. We were 50m over the threshold I thought. But what do I know.

    lizards did it
