http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-getting-perfect-man-7827768 Glowing review from Bazza Hearn and he's no mug! OK, Slade has no experience of Championship football, yet, but to get experience of Championship football you need to work in the Championship at some point! Have a sneaking feeling he may well be quite successful!
I am coming around to the idea a bit. I hope he is hard but fair with the players and can shake off some of the apathy many players seem to have. Ole rotated too much meaning effort on the pitch was not rewarded. Pick what you think is your best XI and have players try to force their way in.
Done deal. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/29355312 He will be named our manager very soon. I now hope we all get behind him and let him try to sort out this shambles he is walking into. He seems like a guy who will give it his all, and I believe there is a good chance he will win us all over by the end of the season. Even with this horrible start we are well in it (no matter what Dai says).
I agree. Not everyone's choice as most of us know nothing about him but if he's appointed there's nothing we can do but get behind him. I just hope the players do too.
He'll might need to be better than Pulis to get us up given what he's taking on, but I agree - 100% support from EVERYONE.
The debate whether he's the right bloke ends as it looks like we're going to find out. Barry Hearn's comments do put a bit of logic behind his appointment. From what I've read he sounds a better fit than Hughton and some of the others mentioned. If he realises (which I'm sure he does) this league wont be won playing 6 attacking players in front of a ropey back 4 we should see an immediate improvement
There is/was no guarantee that Pulis could have given us what we need. If it's Slade he will have my 100% support, loads of Orient fans gutted he's gone.
I'm coming around as well. Seeing how gutted the Orient fans are. We need a manager to provide stability and instil authority into the team. Slade seems a nice man, but no pushover. What else do we have to lose?
I think this could well be a very astute appointment for us. As Slade said himself four fifths of his job is man management. He looks a true football man with quite a bit of knowledge in the game. He must be well pleased at the moment and i think he will bring lots of enthusiasm, i fully expect him to bring his training staff with him also.
Well I hope they're better than Ole's - I've not seen such an unfit (disinterested?) bunch of players wearing the City shirt for a long time.
I certainly don't think Ole's day to day ineptitude can in anyway be attributed to Tan (other than letting Dalman employ him), however I do believe the stories that Tan attempts to have more input into football matters than a chairman should.
Ok! Can someone just clarify this for me. My understanding here is that we are now probably going to pay significant compensation to a club for a manager who was one game away from the sack due to poor performances. Anyone?
