Good Morning Everyone, How are we this morning? THE Football League has refused to comment on fresh claims that the written judgement from a tax conviction imposed on Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino could put him in breach of the governing bodyâs owners and directors test. A spokesman for the League said it was still to receive a copy of a report which is casting renewed doubt over Cellinoâs future as majority shareholder at Elland Road. Cellino was disqualified on the basis of a court case in March in which a Sardinian court found him guilty of failing to pay import duty on a private yacht. An independent QC upheld a subsequent appeal by Cellino on the grounds that he could not be certain if Cellino was guilty of a dishonest offence â the basis on which the Football League disqualifies prospective owners and directors â until the judge hearing the case, Dr Sandra Lepore, published a full written judgement. For whatever reason (lets say the report got lost in the post), it did not arrive. This led to Shaun Harvey to speak out this month, saying the absence of the judgement was leaving âa cloud hanging overâ Cellinoâs buy-out. The report acuses Cellino of âelusive intentâ and âMachiavellian simulationâ in avoiding import duty on the yacht. If Cellino is found guilty of such behaviour the Football League can ban Cellino from owning Leeds Utd.
Morning Elland and all. I will nail my colours to the mast. There are far too many grey areas in this fit and proper bullshit. Cellinos lawyers will find them. Stop worrying about stuff that will likely never happen and enjoy all the good stuff currently happening at our club. Heck, we must be making progress when even the Neville sisters feel they must comment on us again. Anyway ne pissed off that fergiescum gave a tea talk to the European Ryder cup team. In his honour, I will stick a few quid on the USA now. Don't want that auld bollix getting any more credit for anything in sport
Morning Eire, I'm sure Cellino and lawyers will be able to sort it. Supposed I feel a bit agrieved that Harvey is singling us out.
What year was it when the Ryder Cup was tied, they were playing the 18th, the USA putted, and all the wags ran onto the green
Morning all. Past caring about the legal niceties of Cellino's problems. If push comes to shove, he'll put the club in the name of Salerno or one of his family and run it by proxy.
Not sure its as easy as they might make out. If they do try, this will go through the courts for months if not years.
Morning all. It is a worry though, it always seems with Leeds United that after the pleasure comes the pain. When I heard that a full report from the judge would be announced down the line, I just felt it was too early to be getting excited regarding Cellino's takeover. The FL are obviously wetting themselves over this and will be doing everything to do Leeds United, I don't even think it's Cellino they care about, they just want the club to suffer.
Morning all There will always be a story rumbling in the media about our ownership, unfortunately we are easy targets for it these days. Agree with RCDM though, its not like they could turn round tomorrow and tell him to clear out his office, it would be a long process. Something we could do without, sure, but I'm convinced Cellino has a plan for this already.
Morning all ... if the judgement is "dishonest" then no lawyer in the world can save Cellino because its a footballing body's rules not publc law, and the FL can make any call they want as long as they prove dishonesty, which has already been done for them via the Italian court's judgement ... the only thing is they will have to give Cellino time to find a buyer at fair market value, which means one of two things happen 1 .. Cellino sells all our best players and ships the money out to the Caymans on a yacht flying an American flag 2 .. it takes twelve years before a serious buyer with money is found because the price has gone up dramatically following our promotion to the Prem With regard to the Ryder Cup ... USA USA USA ... I'm with Eire on this one, don't want to be watching reruns for decades to come of Scum Nose giving his "victory or death" fcuking speech to the players ... fcuk that for a game of soldiers, and who actually cares that a team with Germans and French in it wins the thing? I find it laughable that "Europe" is suddenly so important, load of old cobblers really ... even worse having that tit giving a glory speech that will no doubt catapult him into golfing folklore if Europe wins the thing ... A very good morning to one and all from sunny Macedonia. Firstly, the good news - we have found red wine for the equivalent of 65p a bottle. It's quite drinkable, stays down & no visits to A&E have occurred yet. Woo woo!!!! Next, the Cellino situation. He's got plan B, C, D, E & F all in place. Relax. He'll sort it out. No more speculation, please. We've had enough of this speculative nonsense over the past few years & it wasn't nice. Let's enjoy talking about the progress we're making on the footballing front. Let's forget all the snash & be positive. Oh, and drink more red wine! Chee-arse!
Fcuk me Jocko ... go and buy a few extra suitcases, you can make a killing flogging that wine outside Firhill Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Morning all from Sunny Bristol I'm going home today and I have tomorrow off so I am in a good mood I'm not to worried about Cellino's judgement. There are a few court cases going on and I just hope thats not a drain to the clubs spending, although its Cellinos money and I'm more than happy with what he's put in so far. Although I was sceptical about his buy out (I think that was fair enough with his history and Leeds history of being shafted) but he's been a real breath of fresh air to the club and the results are reflecting that. Onwards and upwards!
Good morning to Mat and Whitejock sunning himself in Macedonia and getting well on cheap red wine cheaper than Toro Loco from Aldi my favourite tipple and the rest of you from a very dull rather cold Cote de Bardsey Lets take o0ne thing at a time Cellino has more than proved to me he is fit to run our club investing in the squad wisely unlike the previous incumbents bent being rather appropriate dont you think We have the makings of a team now not a bunch of has beens as we have been used to in the past. MC is a very astute business man admitted he appears to be rather laid back but that's just is way of making his detractors think he is an easy ride well David Haigh has found out the hard way now wallowing in a Dubai jail as a result I believe of the forensic accountants MC brought in and what happened to the company secretary as she been seen since? The old owners too were soon made to reduce their selling price by £10m as a result of his investigations so I firmly believe we will NOT have a transfer embargo placed upon us nor will MC relinquish his ownership he may have to transfer it to his family or form a new company in the Caymen Islands I'm sure he knows the ins and outs and I believe this man is so clever that he will appeal is sentence in Italy until its forgotton about aka Beliscoli No lets forget about what doom looms round the horizon lets look forward to a successful season under our new coach We have only to look at how Bates has never been questioned over all his dodgy dealings ,How Oyston still retains Blackpool even though he got 6 years for rape and the owner of Birmingham Carson Yueng still owns the club even whilst he languishes in jail. With the state of my club never been in better hands no wonder I feel well!
Afternoon chaps First post on here but long time viewer. Used to post on the old BBC site until it closed and flit between here and JA but decided this is far better - if nothing else, one particular poster on there makes me want to punch him every time he finds something negative to post!! Cellinos master plan is easy to see - get promoted then it has naff all to do with Harvey
