Hello all, Any idea why he's not running in practise this morning? Is it just for the practise or did I miss something?
    Thanks in advance

edit: should have kept him as Hulkenberg just put the car in the wall.

Sutil and Di resta take turns letting Nico Hulkenburg drive for FP1, and just as i say it he has gone into the wall.

At Force India they give their reserve driver running in FP1 and they take it in turns who driver he (Hulkenberg) replaces, so next GP he will replace Sutil.
    Although Hulkenberg has just crashed.

I know there are plenty of people who frequent various F1 fora who will argue with me over this: Hulkenberg is not good enough for F1.

Force India's juggling of drivers is doing them no favour whatsoever, since both Sutil and especially di Resta are better on the technical side, giving better feedback to the engineers. (And they're both better racers in my view - once again, particularly di Resta).

Hulkenberg is hindering, not helping. He is a Hindenberg just waiting to happen…

I like the "Hindenberg" name, it might catch on around the paddock ;)

aggree cosi, personally I think there's a few drivers on and around the grid that are there through sheer luck rather than skill.

Sutil is massively overrated because he has been against some very average team mates and he does not have the quality to really do much in F1 apart from fill seats which he has pretty much done his entire F1 career despite being in a decent car for the last few seasons.

Hulkenberg has only had one season in F1 and yes he did have a slow start but in the second half of the season even without the pole position he was impressive so I think Force India really should just finally drop Sutil even though he brings in money and give Hulkenberg the chance to carry on his career and his progress in F1. I also find it hard to believe that Hulkenberg is weak on the technical side because in 2009 he actually worked a bit in the Williams factory, so I would like to know how and why you have formed your opinion that Sutil and di Resta are better on the technical side.

    Paul Di Resta ?

I'll just say this, so far he has very much impressed me and I like the cut of his jib.

First Grosjean and now Hulkenburg as well?

I'm not going to defend Hulkenburg as Mifune has already done so, but I think Force India are making the correct decision to give Hulkenburg practice time. Not only is it good practice for him, but Mallya has made it clear that the outcome of the Sutil-Lux case may decide Sutil's future in the team.

Hulkenburg is a decent driver and good enough for any midfield team. I would give him a shot to see if he can do better in a 2nd season! Petrov has got that privalage and he has improved alot!

Indeed, if Hulk was given the support Petrov got for this year and a better car to boot, he might surprise a lot of people, and the best thing is he will be going very cheap and he could be tier 3 kind of driver, you never know...

Well, perhaps I overstated my case.

I believe Hulkenberg is better than Karthikeyan, so if the latter has a seat in F1, Hulkenberg definitely justifies one. I was being a bit provocative. What I was really getting at is that Hulkenberg is not up to the hype with which he entered into this particular arena and I do not believe he is worthy of a drive with a top team.

I'm a bit late on this thread.
However I had to say Hindenburg- a name like that might set the place alight?

Hulkenberg won every junior series at his first attempt. He belongs in f1, great end to last season, even without that freakish pole position.

Yes. But far from being explosive, Hindenhulk's over-inflation turned out to be nothing but hot air…

That is a bit unfair after only one season in F1, look at Petrov, he was crap in his first season but is doing a decent job this season. I think when he gets his chance to carry on the progress he made in the second half of last season then he will soon be on fire.
