I think the idea is that Mason, uniquely, might be glad to be playing. You'd never know it by his expression.

And this is why Townsend never scores. The moment it couldn't have been clearer he needed to run at the goal to tap in a cross, he stood aimlessly around at the edge of the box.

 

Mason puts one right across the face, but nobody gambles. That's really poor.

 

If we're playing 4-4-2 now, then why are our wingers still inverted?

To be fair, I was going to say the 4-4-2 looked much likelier to score, inverted wingers or no. There are real live human beings in white shirts in the box.

Haven't seen Blackstock in a while. He was pretty decent a while ago.
Hope he's not feeling quick tonight or we could be in trouble.

 

Townsend is without doubt one of the most frustrating players I have ever watched. So much pace and potential but hardly ever any end product.

 

Even Forest seem to have a few of their best players out tonight (rested?) - Cohen, Hobbs, Lansbury, Antonio, Assombalonga, Fryatt, Lichaj, Darlow, Reid.

Is this competition worth the bother?
