I think it's been considerably better the last five minutes. The tempo has picked up. Not a half bad 35 yarder from Fazio.

I'd like to see more of that. Long, speculative cross from Stambouli, but since there's only one defender back, he has to head it out for a corner. So much better than that pause to faff around, then a pass or shot that does nothing but bounce off the packed bus.

It gets worse when you add in the no shots on target against Partisan Belgrade

I do feel for Soldado. I feel he could do more, but the service he gets is pretty woeful. The only time we look scoring is from set pieces and even then Paulinho can't beat the first man!

Bloody hell 1 shot on target in now 225 minutes of football v partizan, west Brom and forest!
It's debatable whether teams should bother with a goalie against us and just have 11 outfield players against us!

My worry is this damning statistic is only going to get worse Saturday night!

Townsend has another punt, though this time he's in a decent position to do so.
Lots of better options in the box, though.

4 people in the box and Townsend elects to shoot well wide.

    The mind boggles

Townsend really has a chance to become the worst shooter in PL history. God knows how many he's taken, and scored one, by mistake.

Well, that wasn't much good, was it? Better than against West Brom, but pretty toothless and rather aimless.
Lennon's a complete waste of time on the left, Townsend's utterly predictable on the right and there's nobody creating anything through the middle.
Both Soldado and Paulinho need someone in behind them pulling the strings and we've got two battlers, instead.
The wingers look unsure of themselves when tracking back too, putting the fullbacks under pressure. Davies has been anonymous.

I know it's early to say this but watching us play it's blatantly obvious we were wrong to get rid of Sherwood. It's not the manager, the players just aren't good enough. Paulinho and Soldado for about 50 million says it all really. I would rather we bought the best young prospects from the championship, like we did about 10 years ago, than players from other countries with big reputations that generally disappoint.

Ben Davies hasn't impressed me at all since he's joined. He makes Rose look good. You never see him run at a man to try and beat him just play it simple all the time and often giving the ball away.

Obscured in the train wreck of another wretched half was the fact that we quit dawdling halfway through. Unfortunately, that only got us to the next stage of failure, in which there were few decent balls into the box, and those that did get in were booted by the players they reached. Not nearly enough players running at the goal, either, but it must be hard to make runs when there seems a .00000000001 % chance of a ball reaching you.

Rose has been a relative bright spot this season. I agree I haven't seen anything to make me understand why Davies is supposed to be a good attacking player.

To be fair, some decent work by Stambouli and Bentaleb, but there have only been a few times they've gotten the ball forward quickly enough.

Astonishing how little I've heard from Soldado and Lennon.

Townsend's best sequence of the year, maybe. Loses his man and fires a dangerous ball where he should fire it. No one home, of course.

He looks uncertain as to what he's supposed to be doing and there's basically nobody in front of him.
Lennon's moving all over the place and he's often struggling to get back into position when we inevitably lose the ball.

Spot on. No manager in the world could get any better out of this lot. Lennon only player who seems to care. Soldado and paulinho 50 mil completely wasted

I'm probably being harsh PNP but I love to see spurs full backs taking their man on or getting in behind the opposition defence. I haven't seen him do that ever.
I'm sure I'm not alone thinking that I could do a better job as manager than some of our recent ones!
