    Good points

    Hull City AFC reside there
It's secluded out the way in a far corner
    There's a way out

    Bad points

There's a way out (the natives can escape)
    Assem Allam
It's the first bit of England anyone sees when arriving via ferry from Belgium/Holland.

"A good and friendly place - the only place I've lived where people thank you when you stop for them at a pedestrian crossing."

I thought everyone did this? A friendly wave to the driver as you walk by to acknowledge him stopping.

here is a few places i can say are worse than Hull

Oban - a wart on the beautiful west coast of Scotland

Caernarfon - with its lovely castle and walled town in Wales - by god the rest of it is Scunthorpe

Bradford - its just a collection of shops . . . very samey textile shops

Dunbarton - the McDonalds was very "Soviet"

Morecambe - a collection of tatt tatting on a scrapheap

Port Talbot - in fact most towns that part of Wales are pretty grim (Swansea & the Gower aside )

Luton , Big lumps of London , Weymouth and Solihull

For some of the Best ive visited or stayed

    Leeds , Manchester , Swansea , Worcester , Chester , Conwy ,Stirling & Ballater

I lived in Chatham between 91 and 95.

I can, therefore, say with absolute authority that when it comes to comparing towns/cities you really should be careful.

What year was you born son?

I might know you're mum, I might even be your dad?

Ask her if she drank in The Marquis around that time, or maybe The Viscount. If she says she drank in the Sewers I'll take my hat off to her, some game girls used to frequent that place.

What a s**t hole, mind you Brompton High Street did have The Cannon just 'round the corner and that was a great boozer back in the day. Run by Yorkie(RIP) so no wonder it was decent, run by a Yorkshireman you see.

That list is invalid as it doesn't include Stoke.

The 1990's called, they want their news story back. That photo could have been taken in any town or city in the country. However, if you want to take pictures of "the land of green ginger", cream phone boxes or the worlds only submarium, that can only be done in Kingston upon Hull.

Is The Cannon still on the go?

We used to go in another decent little boozer called The Jolly Caulkers just off Chatham High Street.

Rochester was a good night out, used to frequent The Angel in Strood from time to time.

That place was a bit lively on occasion.

In all honesty I have nothing but great memories of my time down in the Medway towns.

Having a bad reputation isn't entirely a bad thing.

    1. It's nice to know it isn't a **** hole or as bad as people think.

    2. It won't become overpopulated.

I've said it before in similar discussions, and I'll say it again now.

    I've been to Stoke.

    For a few days.

How Hull is adjudged to be worse than a place like Stoke is just beyond me.

My dad lived there for a bit. He moved to Hull when he met my mum, but he's always said that Hull is far, far better than Stoke and Newcastle-under-Lyme.
