I could do with one of these miracles for my 35 year old partner, who was born cerebral, fought like hell for her own independence, had our beautiful little girl 5 years ago and then laid in her bed and watched her body fall apart and world around her. In a way I am her miracle 24/7 and always will be. As for the Frenchman..

Looks like the faceless, cowardly scum have done it again..

Sorry none of that made sense you're speaking in generalities.

For the record I believe their was Jesus, he was just one of thousands of other prophets who were doing the rounds then. Just as Mohammed was one.

Jesus was lucky that a Roman Emperor got hooked.
Mohammed spread by fear and intimidation.

But I don't believe in miracles.
Even these days doctors have misdiagnosed people as dead and they haven't been in reality.
If someone with the skill of Derren Brown had been about when all these prophets were knocking about, we would all now be Brownians. <ok>

The universe fascinates me, we live in a time where we are beginning to understand it's complexity, scratching the surface if you like. It's mind boggling, beyond comprehension but I still wouldn't entertain the thought of it ever being 'created'.

Alternative forms of life, definitely, but I can't entertain the idea of the supernatural for one second as a plausible 'beginning'.

Fair enough yeah there will be debate over where there is and isn't an abnormal threat to human life. But as a developed and I would hope morally upstanding country we should help as many people as we can. But I live in Newcastle and the amount of these gangsta lads whose family have come over from wherever in the middle east for no good reason and carry themselves reprehensibly over here, that's where we need to crack down and send back where necessary. Start with any foreign imports being kicked out as soon as they are arrested, that would get numbers down fast.

Surely France should be the first place Algerians want to reside.

Exactly Joe, it's people like you who are real life miracles.
When he talks about miracles of people getting out of wheelchairs, he needs to explain GODS reason for putting people in wheelchairs first.

Not sure what you mean when you class someone getting out of a wheelchair or regaining their sight is generalites. It may be explicable scientifically and we don't know how, then again maybe not.
Perfectly fair and I don't hold it up as "look we have a universe so there must be a creator." It's more just a wway of saying there are some things that no one has a "plausible" explanation for. Just try thinking back in your head as far as time can possibly go. Then what was before that? Like you say, mind boggling and no one will ever get their head round it.

I don't believe there should necessarily be a link between God and no one ever suffering. Personally think God takes a bit of a back seat in a way with a lot of things and just watches them unfold, ocassionally coming in and touching something/someone. <ok>

The Big Bang theory is the best we have came up with so far.
The size of the Universe is just mind boggling, for all we know there could be another Universe even further away just like there are multiple Galaxies.
Peoples belief that there had to be some sky fairy that created it, is blown out of the water when you ask who created the sky fairy.

If the sky fairy created it, why did he make it so big and put us on an insignificant little rock?

That's where our plan goes to ****, if we make a bad call we are powerless to send them back. If that could change, people would think twice about being a menace to society as often.

I'm sorry but this sort of argument makes my brain hurt!
Why is he nice to some people and makes others lives so miserable.
Horrible people have long happy lives, they commit genocide and kill and torture yet live to a happy old age.
Why would he give a baby cancer?
Did the baby have a nasty thought in the womb?

Just like that daft **** Hoddle and his people are being punished for things they did in previous lives belief.

You broke the mould big fella, I don't envy your task but the way you go about it you have all my respect. I don't know you too well, but I know I've instinctively got you spot on, you're a ****ing hero.

I have no trouble admitting I don't know the answer to the vast majority of your questions :) Simply don't know.

EDIT all I will add is that in my belief people who "live to a happy old age" still have an afterlife of torment to endure, although that will never be proved of course...the world being unfair is one of the first things ANYONE has to accept.

But you are talking in generalities, give me a specific case I can comment on.
Hopefully a case from a modern Western country and not some hearsay from some backwater that can't be verified.

So you are admitting you take it all on faith and have nothing to back it up? <ok>

Trust me as far as I'm concerned you can believe what you want.
But any faith should have no bearing on any ones life apart from that person.

The most plausible theory I've heard in a 'creationism' sort of way is the technological advancements of other species. There's no chance in hell we are the most intelligent life form in the entire universe, yet we're ****ing about with machines smashing atoms apart, the Haldron Collider is it? Establishing the 'god' particle, Mr Peter Higgs... it's all too plausible that another lifeform is billions of years ahead of us, technologically and have 'bent time' and created other parts of the universe.

How they got there is another question altogether, but the human brain will never be able to compute 'infinity' as we can only process linear thoughts when it comes to time.

My mind is ****ed now, I need a nap!

I've been thinking about this & have come to the conclusion that I am no longer agnostic but aithiest.
My grandad's lungs were ****ed due to pit work.
Years after he retired he spat up pitch black phlegm into a coffee jar.
On oxygen bottles, trying to get some breath.

My father died of lung cancer.
My Janie died of colon cancer.

In every case I prayed for the man in the sky to take me instead of them.
The fat bastard never listend & he can go shag a choir boy.

    I don't believe in him & if he does exist, he's a ****.

Just one example from a quick google search, this is all futile though as there is no way of PROVING that she didn't just fake being disabled for 10 years lol.

Very crass of you MR but basically, that's why it's called a faith :p

And I concur with your second statement.
