Did anyone see the Liverpool CL game against little-known Ludogorets? it's 1-1 with only a couple of minutes remaining.. were you astounded too by the following..? It's a backpass, seemingly little danger, the game will end 1-1... Their keeper then proceeds to give LFC the match by making an almost farcical attempt to "lose" control of the ball with plenty of time to hoof it clear. He does indeed lose possession but the attacking Liverpool player is still out of positon (not a massive goal threat out wide) so then he clatters into him right on the edge of the box. He knows it will be a penalty but also makes a huge 'hands up I'm innocent' sign, which helps to confirm the ref's mind to the contrary. Stevie G makes it 2-1 Mmmmmmmmm Were Ludogorets really supposed to have equalized? Did the keeper have to 'rectify' the score.. and he didn't have long to do it.. How much money was on a LFC win?
I read something once about a keeper who played against Liverpool in the CL who said he was threatened by some gang and made to make sure Liverpool scored at least 3 times. Liverpool were dreadful that night and managed to muster a grand total of one shot on target. So yes it sounds plausible.
