Sure is. I don't mind who wins this time. I support Europe but with my favourite ever golfer and absolute gent as captain of USA I don't mind. I'd be delighted for Tom.
The great thing about the Ryder Cup is it shows us all the benefits of European unity. There's no finer sight in world sport, or indeed any other aspect of our lives, than that of the EU flag flying proudly.
That Tees me up nicely to say the unity between all the European nations may go towards removing the wedge so often portrayed between us.
It's also nice to note that now whenever anyone mentions Germans and bunkers in the same sentence we all think back to Bernhard Langer stranded at the 17th in Medina in 1997* *Yes i know the original butt of all bunker jokes was actually Austrian but i can't think of any Ryder Cup golfers that hailed from there.
Last time I actually didn't bother watching the last day thinking it was a formality for the septics. Europe can't lose. If we're way behind on the last day simply say there has been a terrorist threat at Gleneagles, the Yanks will **** it and fly home immediately. Only collateral damage is some poor arab nation will get a few cruise missiles up their ass.
There is, of course, the danger that the Yes camp will demonstrate by digging up all the greens. Thank God there's nobody on here who is based in Scotland, hates golf and is still beeling about last week's result eh lads?
