1. disappointed in markovic for 2 things. i saw 3 occasions he rejected a clear shooting chance to pass and the fact he one touches back so much he's not taking it in and just even drawing a foul. must do more. 2. lallana... sure worked hard, but corners were abysmal. he gave a decent showing there which is better than not being able to so we'll see v prem opposition. 3. enrique... decent but has the same old flaw of losing it in bad areas. down the line son, maybe get a throw. 4. mingolet. i felt he lost it a bit in the middle of the pens and started just throwing himself blindly one way or the other but composed himself and started going the right way... a bit.... but... in fairness to the lad 90% of middlesboro pens were good hits 5. what about lucas here lads. he gave rossiter a good minding and played quite well but can't play v everton surely now? he might have lost it in running but in a 4-2-3-1 he showed what he can do
Didn't see the game, sounds epic. How did our lad Bamford do? Saw he won and scored the penalty to take it to a shoot out. Massive pressure moment.

Managed to get home from work just as Balo was putting the ball on the spot for the first penalty. Really good shootout, some great penalties taken in all fairness.
Lucas was good in patches to be fair, and he took his penalty very well - loved his celebration and passion after that.
He's all set to replace Gerrard. Lucas will be understandably rusty but will improve quickly with games.
At the base of the diamond, I think I would rather him over Gerrard but he's still a liability in my eyes. What is more important is what's in front of Lucas - i.e. we need the likes of Allen and Hendo back, with Studge up front to give us more movement and create space.
