Gave up on England a long time ago, nothing to do with Thudd or Davies not being picked, it's simply because England are ****.
You just cant give up on England Rover. Its who we are. Thats like supporting Man U or Pool cos City were ****.
The FA should employ someone who understands the way of the owl to keep Woy on the straight and narrow. Ross Noble springs to mind.
England do make me laugh, but there is a dearth of quality English CB's in the league. At this rate, Harry Maguire could smash it tomorrow night and then get a call up.
I'm bored of England - we are nowhere on the world stage and are incapable of beating top opposition whoever the manager is. RH only ever picks players from 8 teams and so it's no surprise that another (albeit sh1t) Manure defender is getting a look in. I doubt Roy will get to either the KC or King Power this season as his sat nav is stuck in London or the North West. Fewer players we have playing in pointless friendlies the better IMO - reduces the risk of needless injuries.
I haven't given up on England - but I have given up thinking England are ever going to win a major tournament again. England have become boring and predictable - we will celebrate qualifying for a tournament - even from a p1ss easy group - as if we have won the thing - but once the tournament starts we will see how far behind other nations we are. We are incapable of beating any other major world footballing nation and that is nothing to do with who the manager is - England just do not have the world class players that other countries produce. I'm sure Thudd and Curtis would love an England cap or 5 but in selfish mode I am more than happy to see them left out of meaningless friendlies and the like if it means they avoid the possibility of injury and are fit to play for HCAFC every week.
We had a couple - Jamie Wood and David Brown immediately spring to mind. Brown wasnt really disappointing though, we just looked too **** for him. Wood was terrible.
Wood was ****ing awful. Brown was ok but we certainly weren’t too **** for him. I hardly missed a game back then and he was about the standard of what we were at the time and, from memory, his career post Hull City testifies to this too. Also, if I remember correctly, it's important to remember that Brown was/is a mormon.
I'd like to play devil's advocate here .... but it's too depressing and I can't fathom why Davies is overlooked. I pay more attention to Grimsby, North Ferriby and Scunthorpe than I do to England .... let them become irrelevant ...
