The only way Pardew goes, in my opinion, is if we struggle near the bottom 3 till January, at which point Ashley will go on a mini spending spree like 18 months ago. If we still don't pick up after that he will be gone before he takes us down.

No idea whether this has any factual basis but it would make perfect sense. Ashley knows if he gets a new manager in he will be committed to spending significantly in January (new manager would insist on that). So why not give current one a chance. If we turn it round between now and early December we will muddle through transfer window as usual and keep Pardew, thus making big savings. If not the new manager has a month to decide on where he needs to strengthen and we splurge in January keeping new manager happy and hopefully retaining PL status. Its a bit of a gamble but we know that MA is not averse to this.
