Travis was found guilty of an indecent assault which taken place in January 1995 on a female television personality working on the Mrs Merton Show.
The victim had told a court the woman 'froze' when Travis 'squeezed' her breasts while she was working on the popular programme.
She said he approached her in the corridor of a television studio and put his hands on her chest.

 

It all seems rather bizarre.

And 10 to 15 seconds is an awfully long time to stand there being groped.

There'll be a lot of women in this case angry that in all but one instance the jury chose to believe Travis's word over theirs.

Whilst I wouldn't condone the action of grabbing someone's tits without consent - obviously that's wrong - I was bemused to see several tabloids in the garage this morning trumpeting the fact that DLT could be facing a custodial sentence.

I then read through the HDM online, and read a story about a chap who had punched a woman in the face so hard that her teeth came through her lip, and stuck his fingers into the eye sockets of another woman whilst in the midst of what can only be described as an orgy of drink-fuelled violence. He got a £750 pound fine and no custodial sentence.

Now I'm no expert in legal process, but can you spot the issues here?

 

I'm assuming if you get a £750 fine for seriously assaulting women, that DLT will probably get some sort of award for his relatively minor indiscretion.

I still think it all seems a bit odd, mind.
