We're heading towards game time so I thought I'd start this thread.

After Saturday, tonight looks like being a real challenge. Not only is Everton a good team home and away, but we have three very knackered midfielders (and perhaps others) from Saturday, our U-21s played yesterday, so perhaps we are going to be squeezed for available players. The physio-types among us can comment on whether Ki, Shelvey and Sig have any likelihood of being available even on the bench. I am guessing there are no injuries - was Ki's and Dyer's substitution tactical or injury based.

I have no idea who we might start, so I'm going for pot-luck and suggest:

    --------------------- Tremmel --------------------
    Rangel ------ Bartley ------ ???? ------Tiendalli
    -------------- Carroll -------- Jazz ----------------
    Dyer -------------- Emnes -------------- Montero
    -------------------- Gomis ------------------------

Subs: Fab, Routledge, Williams, Fernandez, Ki, Sig, Shelvey.

Who do we have to be ???? (Tate?)

I predict we will win, on the basis we will put out a stronger team than Everton will, due to their Europa League commitments.

Perhaps we will play Williams and Fernandez at the back to give them more game time together.

I'd pick a full team if possible with the exception of Jonjo. I want to see how Carroll performs alongside Ki and Gylfi.

Who do we have to be ???? Williams

was Ki's and Dyer's substitution tactical or injury based. or inexperience based?

I think he's likely to use the same combinations as Rotherham at Centre Backs and give Rangel recovery time for Sat. I really hope Jazz is up or left back duties again, it would be god to see if he's as effective as in the first game. We have find someone better than Taylor! I think he'll keep the five midfield on deep, two central and 2 wide. I hope Ki was taken off last Saturday with tonight in mind or that was a daft decision.

    --------------------- Tremmel --------------------
    Tiendalli ---- Fernandez ------ Bartley ------ Jazz
    ----------------------Carroll ----------------------
    Dyer -------- Emnes ----- Ki --------- Montero
    -------------------- Gomis ------------------------

    Is Fulton available for selection?

I can see Jazz playing at LB, but I'd also like to see what he can do as a holding midfield player?

    Who else do we have?

Doubt that will happen, I see at least 5 or 6 changes, but agree with Carroll alongside Ki and Siggy, but I think Siggy will not start, maybe Emnes!......<ok>

    I'd go with;

    -----------------Tremmel---------------
    ------Fernandez-----Bartley---------
    Tiendalli--------------------------Jazz
    ---------Carroll------Fulton-----------
    ------------------------------------------
    --------------------Ki--------------------
    ---Emnes----------------Montero----
    -----------------Gomis-----------------

Bench: Fabianski, Kingsley, Ash, Sheehan/King (is Sheehan injured?), Shelvey, Routledge and Barrow

Which is nearly the same as Bob's team.

Kingsley was subbed out of the U-21 game the other night, don't know if that's because he picked up a knock but it might be that he'll play some part tonight.
Fulton needs a start now that he's fit.
Barrow will be a good option to cover Gomis and the RW spot (If we're winning with 20-30 mins to go I'd like to see Gomis subbed).
Shame Donnelly isn't fit as he'd make a useful sub for this game.
Would like to see Ki in a more forward role and see if he can get himself a goal again, can see him putting Gomis/Emnes/Montero through.
I'd play Jazz left-back and if he did well against Everton I'd stick him in the side next Saturday.

Carroll needs minutes. He and Fulton sat in front of the defence is the way I'd go.
Would play Emnes and Montero narrow.
Would love for Gomis to score and get his confidence up ready for the next couple of games.

I'll go for a 2-1 win with Ki and Gomis the goalscorers.

I'd like to see Ki in a more forward role also if only for this one game to get a different perspective. Agree on Jazz.

Swansea & Cardiff both at home tonight - that's unusual, if not unheard of.

    And the line-up is:

    Tremmel
    Richards - Fernández - Williams - Taylor
    Shelvey - Carroll
    Dyer - Sigurdsson - Montero
    Gomis

Subs: Fabianski, Ki, Emnes, Routledge, Rangel, Bartley, Fulton

Tiendalli not to be found - extra or injured?

    Shelvey starts ....

    Sig starts ....

On paper a strong team. Question - have they all recovered enough, especially Shelvey and Sig.

Would like to have seen Jazz at LB and Rangel or Tiendalli at RB - but we now get to see Jazz and Taylor on opposite flanks for good comparison
