I agree with Hash. Players can play twice a week, especially at this early stage. After such a bad start to the season another defeat, and its detrimental effect on team spirit, can be far more destructive than any perceived tiredness, imo.
not if they look leaden legged..... in CL gerrard looked all in on 70 mins v west ham he was the same. then of course he burst to life breifly and you go where'd that come from
And the razor wasn't invented until the 1940's. Some pretty cool moustaches there! You need formal attire for a good moustache though. In more casual attire they look funny... in a suit they look as much like they belong as a bowtie and a top hat.
Did you notice how we were doing great with Rafa until the goatee appeared, maybe managers with facial hair belong back in the 1940's ....
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/7922069.stm Scroll down to the Rafa video. That was his best year with us.
I wasn't really referring to Gerrard- he's knocking on a bit- but the rest of the first team squad should be fit enough. Even if a player is built in such a way that his game only allows him to play 60-75 mins at a time, his recovery time should be good enough for him to repeat that 3-4 days later. I just don't think we should be playing too many fringe players. Blooding one or two may be ok, but regardless of what we think of the COC, a continuation of our dismal form could have devastating effects on team morale. I said last season that the good start was instrumental in setting up our overall performance. I think we have to work really hard to overcome this season's poor start, and not let self-belief evaporate.
yes most of them should be....... as you say an hour played with recovery compared to training every day could be the same thing. when we say fringe however mclaughlin to my mind would be this not enrique, markovic or lucas for example i'd rather we win this than not!
Bring back Rafa, bring back Rafa, miss those interviews ..... As for his best year don't know, it was a clean shaven Rafa who lifted the CL and FA Cup,
Someone told me today that your last 26 games had been broadcast on live TV? Is that actually right? I know you were on loads last season and every week so far this???
it would be something close. certainly this season the tv companies took every game and the first one that won't be on is west brom on. i think after the game with you... in short they get short changed. 26 in a row though....... not sure. I would guess that any game on at 3pm on a saturday had a chance of not being on but anything on sundays/mondays/ early/later are just on.... 26 sounds a lot but thats be 21 games last season i suppose..... i dunno
Last 14 games in a row been broadcast - as you say West Brom won't be on live and Cardiff in March wasn't on and before that Swansea in Feb. wasn't on live and we won those 6-3 and 4-3 respectively. Maybe we should be on less live with scores like that.
I think the excitement of Suarez and LFC goal feast matches, put us on TV all most of the time. Now it will happen to United
I've just gone down the fixtures from last season looking at the games that weren't on live tv, from Oct. 2013, here's the results: 3-1 win H to CP, 4-1 win H to WB, 4-0 win H to Fulham, 5-1 win H to Norwich, 4-1 win H to WH, 2-0 win H to Hull, 3-2 win A to Fulham. I think we should keep the cameras out!
Nice to see Rossiter get a game, but thought Suso would start. Lambert to captain us, too. Nice touch from BR that. Now just the win please.
Well sterling burn out stuff and leaving him out looks a bit silly right now doesn't it Oh I'll rest him.... Then drops him next game, has to bring on then we lose then he plays next 3! If you wanted proof suso is gone this is it, but hey I'm thinking the team was close to that predicted. It's interesting to see mingolet picked and that says something too
