These guys join up to kill, they act instinctively and without mercy, now they're being asked to reign it in by the pathetic government and more so by the awful EU that call all of the shots, no pun intended. I think it's absolutely disgusting and ridiculous, but the petition closes in 6 weeks and needs another 18,000 signatures to be brought to the forefront of Dickhead's agenda. The reason I have more respect for the British forces than the American ones is that British forces are expected to think as well as shoot unlike their trigger happy American counterparts. I dont know the details of the case, but if the insurgent was captured (PoW) and the marine shot him in cold blood then there is no excuse. The IS happily capture and murder our armed forces, reporters etc. Doesnt mean we have to go down to their level.
Was a marine who shot dead a taliban insurgent who wasn't deemed an immediate threat to the marine. Head cam got a conviction, yet our country's laws failed to protect him and keep his identity anonymous, so his family could now be considered targets for Jihadi extremists. You can imagine how comforting that is to him whilst he's trying to serve his 8 years in prison.

there is no conventional warefare mate... even the nazis kept to conventional warefare with pow etc...ieds and suicide bombers didn't exist.. but as they do you simply can't keep to convential warfare codes... warfare is changed.. completely.. ieds are not a point in the geneva convention.. they are dirty bombs planted absolutely anywhere..inocent afghans can come upon them.. that's not war, makes me sick a troop is imprisoned for 8 yrs.. the taliban have f**ing children reporting on their duty mate... kids risking their health.. to report to the taliban on locations of military presence

What you talking about? Do you think you speak for all Marines or something? I've got 3 mates who've all transferred to the Marines over the years specifically because they never got the opportunity to go on the front line in their trade in the Army, they wanted to fight the Taliban and the Iraqi insurgents. If you want to pick the bones out of it then no, they don't all join to kill people, but it's a pre-requisite of the job. If you don't want to sign it that's fair enough.
