  2. Manchester United will tear up their loan deal for Radamel Falcao and send the 28-year-old Colombia striker back to Monaco if he suffers a recurrence of his knee problems.
    (Daily Express)

Or, in other words, United will break the loan agreement and get sued for damages.

    What a silly, pointless "headline!"

  4. Just one of the reasons why The Smug One will never be considered as great as Fergie.

Whatever else you might think of him, Fergie's United always went out to dominate the opposition and score as many goals as they could.

Not entirely true. In the 2009 and 2011 Champions League finals against Barca, United set out to stifle, and got thumped. You could tell when Fergie was afraid because he would always put Park in the team <laugh>

He used to do it at Arsenal back when our attack was dangerous. It usually worked as well

"Not entirely true. In the 2009 and 2011 Champions League finals against Barca"

In the 2011 CL final, when Man Utd went 1-0 down they immediately went on the offensive
(and equalised not too longer after) . I remember this solely for my astonishment at how the
Barca back four were managing to pass (not hoof) their way out their final third during some
real serious pressing by Man Utd.

  9. I think any team that came up against that Barca side could be forgiven for panicking and playing a defensive game. I don't know of any of side that tore teams apart like that. Remember the humiliation suffered by Arsenal at the hands of the same side? The Gunners were so scared of Barca's attack that their star striker at the time - Bendtner - tripped over his own boots laces (like a complete fool) when attempting to make (what would have been) the Gunner's only shot on goal during the entire game!

Utterly embarrassing! For me, English football died that night, and I felt soiled for many weeks after.

Despite how much they trounced us in that game, I think if Bendtner had taken that chance we would have won the tie..

Big if when you're talking about Bendtner though

That was different. He sussed that the best way to beat you was to give you possession, get men behind the ball, let you pussyfoot about on the edge of the penalty area, then hit you quickly on the counter.

    I'm referring to SAF, btw

    Although you could have said...

"Manchester United are ready to reject a move for one of their former heroes, 29-year-old Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo, to avoid upsetting their current crop of players."

Yes, that's what is going to happen - it's not like the papers have a habit of saying Showpony will return to Old Trafford at the same point every single season...

"Yes, that's what is going to happen"

Only the rise of Bale would make that happen. At at worst that will take a couple more seasons.

The only way he'll return to Man Utd is, when his contract with Factitious expires in 2018, the 33 year-old Ronaldo will be signed by Manchester United's new manager Alan Pardew.

I think United will only return to normal when they sign a few choppers ala Keane and Scholes.
Mind you, saying that, the old Spurs are in dire need of a few players with "heart".Our present players seem to think they've won the game before it's started "so let's not break into a sweat!"

Fazio seems to fit into that mold - but I can't think of any of our midfielders who do. Well, there was one who did, but he's at QPR for the season.
