The way we played at the weekend, we'll be relying on quite a few in the coming months!! <doh>

Conversely, if those fixtures were on Saturday and we played on Sunday we would be gutted to have not taken advantage. As Kenny said, we will be hoping for many 'super' Sundays.

With the others dropping points, it certainly helps cushion the blow.

But I'm predicting once Sturridge comes back into the team, we will have more firepower to attack teams from the off. Problem we're having at the moment is that we're conceding far too early.

Can't help but feel that Remy would have been a good deputy for Studge but we couldn't offload Borini so we didn't but him.....Have a feeling that we'd have had both Remy and Mario had we sold Fabio.

I heard that Remy liked to do a bit of coke on the side, which is the reason why we didn't go for him.

But I agree - he would have been a good back up or partner for Sturridge. Balotelli has far more potential and natural ability but he's not suited to our style just yet.

Gotta get Sturridge back in ASAP - and keep him FIT!

    Scurrilous internet rumour that one.

Had you found he'd been on the beak, you'd have had to inform the FA and he'd not be playing for Chelsea in the PL at the minute.....

Yep, was just a random rumour I heard.

For £8m, I think he would have been worth the risk (risk being his medical history, and not coke habit lol).

I think you only dropped him at the last minute due to being given encouragement in the pursuit of Balotelli, nothing more, nothing less. I also think he'd have been a better fit.

It's more than just an £8m risk, you sign these people up for normally minimum of 4 years and he'd be on about £70k = another £33.6m risked as if something serious was to happen we can't offload him

Ah well - we ended up with Balotelli who may not be a natural fit but is certainly a more naturally gifted footballer with 'world class' potential and for £16m.

In an ideal world - I would have liked another striker as Lambert (pointless signing) and Borini don't fill me with much confidence.

The result was ****e. Other than lacking creativity up front we were the better team for most of the game. We were asleep the first 10 minutes and let them put two past us- after that first 10 minutes we dominated the play for much of the rest of the game- we just didn't have any creativity or ability to put the ball in the net. We look fragile at set pieces- but during open-play we didn't look that bad.

I think that was just an unfortunate result. Hopefully things will improve when Studge comes back.

Chelsea just running away with things now. All the other "top" teams have decided to roll over and let Chelsea have the title this year.

I've seen a couple of glimpses of brilliance from him since we signed him. He had one rifled shot that got blocked this weekend that would have been a stormer had it missed the defender- he also looks like he does have a brain on him for picking out the occasional attacking pass. He looks very rusty, and his end-product isn't there...
It's very much wait-and-see to see if he can scrape off the rust... hopefully after several games with Studge he will develop a nice partnership.

I'm not keen on Lamb or Boar either. Last resort before playing them!

Prior to signing Balo, I was never a fan of him. Not because of his antics and 'bad boy' reputation but mainly because I just didn't think he was a good enough player.

However, there are a lot of well informed people - journalists, scouts, ex players, managers who truly believe he has world class potential. As you say, he certainly shows glimpses of it and with the right service (and right partner), we could have a gem on our hands.

What has impressed me most about him is his work rate. It will never be Suarez-like but he does put a shift in.
