According to LVG Utd are at a disadvantage in the title race without European football and will struggle. http://www1.skysports.com/football/...an-gaal-wary-over-a-lack-of-european-football Last season the outcry was that the opposite was the case.
Not being in Europe is a big advantage for United. It keeps the players fresh and allows LVG all week to work on the team and opposition. It's funny how United fans have no problem with the above but Liverpool fans were on their usual high horse all last season saying it didn't make any difference.
LVG has a problem with the above, last season Utd fans said less games was an advantage and now they can either admit they were wrong and support their manager's view or stick to their original opinion and admit LVG is getting his excuses in early.
It's an advantage. Liverpool proved that last year and they're doing a good job of showing what a disadvantage it is this year.
I would love to be able to blame our poor start on having CL, but I really dont think that is the problem tbh.
Do look at the pole on the Prem board http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/278092-Will-Liverpool-finish-top-4
This is football people have got to remember Chelsea or any team could so easily go on a winless streak starting tomorrow
I don't disagree with much of this, but only highlighting that with good attacking football, with good attacking players e.g. Suarez, Sturridge, Ronaldo, Rooney, Robben, Duff, Cole it does not follow that you will concede more goals. If the players or the system aren't good enough then don't blame the attack, blame the defence and ultimately the manager. And as well as good defenders you need quality defensive midfielders like Essien or Makelele, Carrick or Hargreaves or Fletcher back in the day, who are pivotal, and that's what Liverpool lacked last season and still do. All of this will be highlighted further now without the goals from Suarez to mask it.
After watching the match today against Leicester I think your be lucky to be no higher than half way when you where 3.1 up you should never lose plus I still believe rooney ist a team player
Top 4 yeah ok. Swansea Sunderland MK Dons Burnley QPR Leicester Pl: 6 W: 1 D: 2 L: 3 GF: 9 GA: 12 You haven't played anyone good yet.
If only football worked to this logic it would matter....... So the next team to beat Chelsea will win the league????
All I'm saying is yes you have a good attacking team but you never sorted your defence out so I think you will struggle this year.
We'll probably play better against the top teams, it goes that way sometimes. I'm not bothered about the first 3 games, LVG was still figuring out who was worth keeping and who he wanted to sell / loan out and the MK Don's team was mostly youth and reserve players. Against QPR we were great, today we were great until the referee handed Leicester a lifeline with that ridiculous first penalty decision. After that and then Cambiasso's equaliser immediately afterwards we collapsed mentally. We are heading in the right direction though and I think we'll be looking ok league wise in the long run this season.
5 games in, the team at the top after 5 games how often have they won the league in the last 10 seasons. Anyone know? Last season after 5 games Ozil was the best player in the prem, ain't that right UIR
