Both sides of the grid cleaned up. Meaning all even grid slots have better starts.

The other impact will be to wash away the majority of the rubber. It basically means everyone will have less grip off the line, I'd say it's likely to make everyone's start worse rather than better.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the even grid slots on the clean side of the track? (but the odd numbered slots have the advantage of the inside line)

    BBC:
    15:53:

    Lewis Hamilton
So Lewis Hamilton scored his sixth pole position of the season, but he has only gone on to win twice in five attempts from that position in 2014.

Why does BBC put up stats like that without explaining what it is in real terms. It gives the impression that Hamilton isn't converting his poles to wins consistently. But didn't Hamilton's car break down in the other three attempts? So Wouldnt that put a different meaning to the stats? While the quote is factual, there is nothing in that says his car failed in the others. For instance, you could also say nobody has beaten him in races that he started from pole and finished in 2014. But hey, there is always spin..lol

This happened with the Grosjean first lap statistics two years ago as well, ignoring the cases where he was taken out or broke down and implying it was all his fault.

Occam's razor, though. The fact that they can't even keep the numbers straight (six poles, five attempts... am I missing something?) implies that they got that particular stat in something of a hurry. I don't think it's deliberate or malicious spin given the BBC is pretty unashamedly pro-Hamilton.

thats just the way it goes.the bottom line is tho,he has more wins than nico, and when both have started from the front row and finished the race, lewis has beat nico 5 times, nico has only beat lewis once.and nico hasnt beat lewis when he's had to come from behind in a race.we'll see what happens tomorrow.

Did anyone notice in the onboard video or Rosberg vs Hamilton pole shoot out on YouTube that most of Hamilton's display was blank? Does anyone know what happened there? Maybe I am wrong but it looks like only the top of the screen was functioning?

tbh it's like people saying Ricciardo is a rookie pwning Vettel despite Ricciardo being in F1 longer than Vettel was when he won his 2nd WDC, and not mentioning that Ricciardo has been bulletproof all season. the facts fit the spin.

I think it's a display setting. Hamilton has it to dull down. It was mentioned at race 1 in Melbourne I think.

With Ricciardo, it's more the fact he's walked into Vettel's team and is beating him. Don't think anyone is suggesting he is a rookie.

Brundle just smashes Horner out of the park.

Horner: Shame you're too old to have driven here.

Brundle: Shame you weren't quick enough to get to Formula One.

    BOOM!!!!

Yeah, happens all the time to Nico.....

If they can get him going, at least we will see what Rosberg can do from the back, though the Mercs don't seem to have the advantage of late
