His head is clearly in London if he can feel it being hurt. In all seriousness hope he's ok, there's one thing hoping he performs badly but i wouldn't wish him to be seriously injured.
Poor guys. The lack of ambition from Liverpool is really hard to take. They could have been second with us.
Not content with stealing all our players, they now want our last season's league position too, haha!!
From Jamie Carragher on BBC: "After losing Suarez Lfc were never going to score 100 goals + this season so had to be better defensively, they actually look worse now." That, my friends, is pure gold.
Lovren has gone back to his Lyon form where he was all potential but prone to errors. dare I say the obvious and suggest he should have stayed at Saints..? Or shall I say that I'm glad he's gone, because Fonte is showing that he was every bit as much the real deal, and his supporting CBs are all of a very good standard. Yoshida is improving as well.
It's becoming increasingly apparent that one of the reasons Lovren looked so good last season was his pairing with Fonte, plus having Morgan and Victor in front of him.
Actually that's a very good point and one I hadn't considered until now, sometimes even if your a top player you need the right player with you helping out ,remember it said that Shilton was worth 10 pts a season at least because of his talking and organising of the defence
A good tactic/team set-up makes everyone look good. And a bad set-up makes everyone look bad. Both are at play here. Lovren doesn't have the same help from the midfield at Liverpool. It seems to me like the player/position that Liverpool really needed to replace was Gerrard. But because of his iconic status, they spent on every position EXCEPT that one.. on players they didn't necessarily need or aren't that good. LFC is completely disorganized at the back as well. Lovren took a huge knock from his own player on a nothing ball; there was no reason for two players to even get bunched up going for that ball, much less fail to communicate so badly they collide. Their defense was a little shaky last year. But rather than fix the problem via coaching by adjusting tactics or emphasizing defense in practice or something, I think they just decided they'd sign Lovren as a magic fix.
