Does he think a manager would ever be happy to see a player go off injured? Utter, utter cock. Having said that, I thought Vic was great, aside from the goal, he looked composed and he didn't give the ball away, instead he seemed to be in control. I hope RK is getting him used to his role before playing him more. Like others have said, he seemed a good fit for this game.
After years of hating Merson I had started warming to him slightly, but this last week he has cemented his place as a legendary bellend. You've just got to laugh at him, that's all.
Good to hear Gardos had a good game and looked composed...after all he is our player and not a loanee. Pleased to hear Toby isn't too badly hurt and should be back next Saturday.
According to Darren Fletcher on 606, the reason Saints got Alderweireld was money. Do these people not follow any sports news at all? #koeman?
If that was a comment of his in answer to a Liverpool fan, then I heard it as well. He was talking about players generally. Yes, they do generally go where the money is. He called them mercenary. There are always exceptions, but I understand that Alderweireld had a choice between Newcastle, one other club of similar status [can't remember which], and Saints. We had Koeman, but I think we can offer competitive money as well these days. At present, a Toon fan is arguing that they need a manager like Koeman. I guess he is flavour of the month.

I think comparing ordinary workers to professional footballers is a poor one. There is simply very little similarity. For the record though, I wouldn't. Depends where, and in which profession it was.
I think there is something mercenary in moving jobs for money regularly. I like my job well enough and wouldn't move just for a pay rise. I'm not really into money. I would far rather be poor and happy than rich and miserable. LeTissier could have left for more money many times.
Well I halved my wage to go into nursing in 1983. I also took a 30% wage cut and demotion in 1995 so I could look after my twin girlies, best job i ever had that.
I also took a wage hit to spend more time at home with my kids. One day they'll be all grown up and then I can work all the hours I want (
My salary went down 90% 5 years ago when I moved into music. But then this really is comparing apples and oranges.
Surely once Mane and Rodriguez are back in the team, JWP will be the only academy player around the first team. Would like to see some others given a chance.
