Would it be horribly churlish of me to point out that when we played the corresponding five fixtures last season we had 12 points against our current 10? Vin
Really..? I'd like to see the proof. No, what I meant was that today is the highest position Saints have achieved in the Liebherr era after all games have been played. OF course ManC could beat Chelsea by 4 goals [yeah, I reckon] and Spurs could score 5 past WBA [under Pochypoos..?], but I think we'll be OK for one week in 2nd place.
West Ham 2 up against Liverpool...their defence must be poor Merson said that he'd never seen a manager look so reluctant to put a player on as he did with Wanyama. Perhaps the rift story is true.
I hope not, I really do. Victor might not be a 'better' player than the likes of Cork or Davis, but I personally think he's more consistently effective.
The only compliment that Merson managed was that he had never seen a side dominate 10 men as much as we did. Of course he had a stab at Vic for his celebration.
He is probably just a bit pissed he is not staring games - and I would be too, I think he was superb at ****terpool
No, Savage doesn't have an agenda. Merson would give body parts to make sure Saints aren't successful. Liverpool just scored. 2-1 down.
We could really have done with Wanyama in that first half, he wins the ball and generally keeps it well also. Had Swansea kept 11 men, I wouldn't have been surprised to have seen him come on at half time. Personally, I think he's been terrific so far this season, and have been disappointed that he hasn't started more. Today I don't think he misplaced a pass, made some good forward passes, and put in some good tackles as well as score. I would like to see Cork, Schneiderlin and Wanyama all play together, especially now they all seem to have found their scoring boots.
