Why are some people dropping Sakho for doing nothing wrong? Personally he's our best center and certainly better than Lovren.
I think he makes people nervous because he looks uncomfortable. Agree he doesn't deserve to be dropped
What a outrageous thought!! If that was the case Crouch would have never got a game for us. He's very comfortable on the ball, I really enjoy watching him play. He's been quoted as the next French captain if he keeps a regular spot for us, that should say enough with the players they have in the team.
Because he's so tall and the way he moves - some of his passing along the floor is fast, crisp, and extrememly actuate. I'm personally a fan, and if Lovren and Sakho are going to be our future CB's for the forseeable future - then why chuck skrtel back in?
It may come as a surprise, but I'm not the most optimistic fan, but I am really nervous for this game. Just can't see us getting anything from it and then next week we play the bitters. I just like to keep track of the 2 points average to get champions league, of which we are already lagging behind.
He was poor against Ludogarets I thought, and he was also poor against Aston Villa. And him & Lovren both prefer to play the left side centre back role and at the moment I'd prefer to see Lovren starting before Sakho.
I never said he makes me uncomfortable lol I agree with both of you but I wouldn't rule Skrtel out completely either, I think it depends what we want going into each game
I would drop Lovren then, he came here to become our new savour at the back and he's caused more problems than not. How do we do on late Saturday games does anyone know?
Last season we lost 1 away at Arsenal, drew 1 at home to Villa & won 2 away to Villa & Southampton. And we lost to Villa last week. So a mixed bag really.
Most commentators suggest that Sakho is poor on the ball, even though he rarely gives it away and always drills low, forward passes which bypass the front line. I think his defending is a little suspect at times, but it's rare to find a defender of that age who are anywhere close to the top of their game. He'll improve but needs game time. I would maybe consider dropping Lovren for Skrtel (who I do rate) for a few reasons; mostly so that Lovren realises that even he's not indispensable and has to up his game to start, but also because I don't think he's played particularly great so far. That said, any combination of the three is fine for me right now. Any news on Can? Is he still injured and does that leave only Lucas as a backup midfielder? Bit disappointing to have a defensive midfielder come on when you're chasing goals...
No matter how poorly Coutinho plays, I really wouldn't play Lucas ahead of him. He offers nothing going forward whereas at least one of Coutinho's balls might get through. Lucas and Gerrard in the same team is terrible now that Gerrard plays so deep.
Yeah, and I'm happy with what I see of him too which stats can't suggest, but I think his natural 'look' on the ball gives a false impression to those who don't regularly watch him.
I wouldn't fancy Coutinho in a physical away game such as this one. Lucas isn't ideal really but I'd rather see him than Coutinho at this point...
Coutinho is only good when he has time and space (when we're dominating)... in tougher games we need someone with more steel... even if he is a lesser man. We should do well in this afternoon's match... I think Coutinho will have a good game.
