Had a busy day Terror ;)

I think we will just nick it, but I'd be happy with a point. Both teams in great form, should be a cracker <ok>

"I wasn't the most talented player, but I was a good thinker. I saw things on the pitch and I told players what to do — mainly because I couldn't run there myself!" - Garry Monk

Some of us always acknowledged Monks intelligent attributes as a player, and we knew that what he lacked in skill and pace was very often made up by intelligent play, that's why he hardly ever got caught in possession, and that was his strength, and it looks as if he could well carry that into his managerial career, he has used sound judgement in the Transfer Window, and he is using common sense approach to squad fitness and training, something woefully lacking under Laudrop!..............<ok>

Questionable - we didn't get a DM, RB or replace Ben. Lost some quality players and has had big bucks to bring in the players the club had been tracking for a year (as reported) Gomis, Fernandez & Carroll - not sure if Montero was on the radar too.
I've asked the question before, if training is so good why have we faded so badly in the second half when last season under Laudrup our second half performances, even when we had 10 first team players unavailable, were strong.
We have also forgotten how to defend corners, a skill Monk was taught by Sousa.
Monk is doing ok but why constantly attack Laudrup?

I remember when ash first joined us, we could tell he had the ability but we were always crying out for monk to be starting alongside him as his leadership skills brought out the best in the defence.
It was never hard to tell that monk wasn't the best player ability wise, but his other strengths (which seem to be on show now more than ever) we're a massive attribute and a contributing factor to where we are today.

Got a bit excited about this one as it's the first game I'll be taking my son to see!

The only one I wrote myself though was the 'key battles' post...the rest were all copy and paste jobs, which takes seconds :)

Still laid up after my op (transgender procedures are very invasive) so will have to get a stream. I'm increasingly worried about this one but if we play like we did first half v Chelsea we should win. Saints have been impressive haven't they. Draw for me.

Up until Chelsea I think we have been strong in the air this season, and having a big goalkeeper like Fabianski has made a difference. With Federico now taking over from Amat, and sub Bartley and Fabianski all at 6'3",we seem well covered for the high balls. Bony also,so good in the air defensively.
Three games in the next week should see most of the squad get some game time. Britton still missing, but Emnes is back and maybe play against Everton in the Cup.
Everybody thought Southampton would be poor this season after their star players departed, but they seem as strong as ever and this will be a very tough game this afternoon. That's how we like them though, just keep them coming I say,2-1 to the Swans.

Heard that before AD but not sure what it means? I'm me, end of. Sounds like a great chap though :)

Some very confident fans on the Saints board but that's to be expected I guess. Most going for a draw though.

QPR losing. Got to laugh, Crouch used both hands on Ferdinand's shoulders to get height and the comentator said that's not a foul <laugh> How do these people deserve salaries?

    Glad they scored though. :)

Whatever. When this was raised before I asked the mods to do a check because I think that's possible. Proved not to be the case as I recall. No rule against it anyway as far as I'm aware, unlike having multiple accounts right Phil/jacksparrow? <laugh>

Let's hope it lives up to the expectation. Could be the best game we see at the Liberty this season.
