.... or so it would seem:

Milanic will take charge of Sturm's game against Josko Ried tomorrow. He's due in England on Sunday to finalise his appointment. #lufc

    Andrew Haigh ‏@AndrewHaigh 4m
    @PhilHayYEP Done-ie Darko.

    Phil Hay ‏@PhilHayYEP 6m
The news is out about Darko Milanic. He's agreed a deal to sever his contract with Sturm Graz and will soon become #lufc's new head coach

    Phil Hay ‏@PhilHayYEP 1m
It sounds like Milanic is basically paying to secure his release from Graz (via a "walk-out clause"). He's under contract until 2016. #lufc

    Emanuele Giulianelli ‏@EmaGiulianelli 42s
Milanic will be the new Leeds coach #lufc

Not sure if I'm happy or not about this appointment. If I'm being honest I know nothing about the fella?? Not sure if he's a good choice or a bad choice. I do feel a bit underwhelmed with it though

Actully sums up how I'm feeling too. Magath apparently had a good CV too & look what happened to Fulham!

Even bigger problem with that is Magaths success came in the German Bundesliga so it was even better on paper!

I'll get behind him as he's got a better record than Hockaday could of ever dreamed of. I had my suspicions about Redfearn taking temporary charge and he proved me wrong, massively!!

The one thing I wonder is how Cellino has even heard of him? He's never played or coached in Italy or over here. To be fair though I'd never heard of Hockaday and he was English so what do I know??

Just hope all this progress of recent weeks isn't affected

Cellino 95% sure Milanic wil lbe the new manager. We'll know by Sunday.

    Great read ..... http://simonaustinsport.blogspot.co.uk/2014/09/milanic-95-to-become-new-leeds-boss-and.html?m=1

Milanic '95%' to become new Leeds boss and should be confirmed on Sunday
I've had quick contact with Massimo Cellino tonight and he says it's "95% sure" that Darko Milanic will become the new Leeds United head coach.
Cellino says he will know for sure on Sunday. Presumably this is when Milanic should have sorted out his severance deal with his current club, Sturm Graz.

Privately, Cellino admits he made an error in appointing Dave Hockaday - too inexperienced a manager and lacking the profile and probably personality for such a big role.

He realised he needed a more experienced boss, which meant spending more money.

That has led him to the 46-year-old Slovenian, who was an international player of some repute, and has had success as a manager with Maribor in Slovenia, and with Austrian side Sturm Graz for the last season and a bit.

And this sounds flippant, but it really isn't. Milanic is also not a bad looking bloke, which will not have escaped Cellino's attention.

He regularly commented on how ugly Hockaday was and insisted this had held him back in his coaching/ managerial career.

There were other candidates for the job, of course. Cellino tried to get Oscar Garcia, and thought he had succeeded, but Watford beat him to the signature of the 41-year-old Spaniard.

Cellino also met former West Brom manager Steve Clarke, but wasn't convinced that the Englishman wanted the job.

In fact Clarke admitted that he wanted to manage a Premier League club again.

Cellino joked that Clarke had once been assistant to Gianfranco Zola (at Watford), so can't have been taught very well.

The two Italians fell out when Cellino owned Cagliari and took Zola there as a player.

Cellino also met former Leeds boss Simon Grayson - and his agent. The eccentric Italian joked that he wasn't sure who was the manager and who was the agent, because the latter spoke more than the former.

Cellino admits that he's baffled and frustrated that managers (or head coaches) all have agents in England and that they exert so much influence.

He insists things are very different in Italy.

Anyway, it looks like Milanic, if he can sort out the final details of his severance with Sturm Graz, and we should know for sure on Sunday.

    Another chapter begins.

Cellino insists that Milanic will have a talented and improving squad of players to work with though. The Italian has been impressed with their recent progress under caretaker boss Neil Redfearn.

One thing we know is that Milanc knows how to win ... he left Maribor in a good state, they knocked Celtic out of the Chumps Lge a couple of weeks ago and played a fast passing game ... he is more Continental in his approach than Magath, who was more of a strict School Principal and this didn't work at Fulham ... in Germany the players have respect for their former Internationals, and a high work ethic, so Magath was fine there

If we had a normal owner (define normal I know) then I would have been less than impressed with this guys appointment.

As things stand with us needing a coach and with Cellino's more hands on approach he seems top drawer of what we could have realistically expected.

He has a decent size pool of players to work with, after Redfearns achievement so far he has to surely respect him so he will hopefully see Redfearn as a good guy to have alongside him to influence the first few games and with the pool of players containing a lot of continental players you would hope they are the type he is used to dealing with.

No mate, I have work later, I am planning on getting to a game this side of Christmas and bringing some mates along with me, we were just talking about it yesterday. When is the next get together after this one?

Edit * Just remembered the sticky 13th Dec ** Just seen it is Fulham, I have a mate who is a Fulham supporter, wonder if I could persuade him to go as well and sit quietly in the Leeds end.

Morning troops. No idea about Milanic, but however we do, it has to be a healthy step up from Hockmadoodlegandi. Let's hope he and Redders get on and Redders can help him settle in, & keep the current structure of the best of our youth and the best of the Italian incomers with Adryan to fit in somewhere.

Hadn't realised the importance of looks in management. Explains why Peter Beardsley never gave it a go.

Given we can now add 'handsome' to the list of qualities required.... In addition to 'cheap, not bothered about job security, only interested in coaching not managing, hating purple and not being born on the unlucky 17th of the month'... We've done well to find someone at all.

Maybe Cellino will learn from this, he knows gut instinct non league quality is not the answer, he has seen what it costs to hire a UK coach with agents getting involved and it doesn't seem to have been the easiest task for him to find a suitable coach. Maybe the new guy in will have a little more time.
