    1977. City Hall. The Jam.

First time I ever saw them live aged 13. I've never seen a better live concert since ( I'm 49 now and been to hundreds of live gigs since) and although I saw the Jam a few times after, nothing about that incredible atmosphere and 1.5 hours that night has or will be eclipsed.

    The greatest band EVER. PERIOD.

And I've 'advised you' many times that they ARE the greatest band for 40 years in this country. A vast majority of bands from the intervening period since their split have been massively influenced by Wellers music and lyrics. He is the Modfather and up there with all the greats that preceded him.

Saw Beefheart at the City Hall, and co-wrote a song with him beforehand, now he influenced a few, Weller not in the same league, sorry.

Some great acts played the Rink including the Beatles just after the release of their first LP, I walked past that night on my way to WPCollege and as the entrance doors were open, could here them setting up.

Really? so what were they, wouldn't really class them as punk, not ska, so what was their identity?
