It's great to see them making a comeback. You can now find them at every central London Station and even at Sevenoaks this morning I was greeted with a cheery smile and a copy of Awake. They are by far my favourite religion. They are non violent and are not a drain on the NHS. Let's have them down the valley sharing a tent with cast.
I'm all for debate, but I don't take kindly to folk knocking on my door. And I don't appreciate being accosted in the street. However, I am a little more tolerant of the Jehovah band; their blind faith in the absurd actually softens my cold, steely heart and I will then offer a few words of sound advice. What about Mormons, though?
I too have noticed Jehovahs loitering at London stations. 40 year old virgin females in long dresses with plaited hair....and strange men with big noses and long beards. It is ok that they believe that sick children should not be allowed blood transfusions, as none of them look likely to procreate any time soon.
I never got into Buddhism although loved that tv show with David Carradine now he was into oranges in a massive way.
My eleven-year old son got into meditating as a way of dealing with his sensory issues and he is now firmly involved in Buddhist practises. He finds great comfort in the imagery, the knowledge, and his miniature Zen garden, which he tends with immense care and patience. I would recommend these methods as a way to relax and find inner peace.
However be careful, finding inner peace is the ultimate goal. David Carridine was found inner cupboard with his testicles tied to the closet door. And with an orange in his gob.
Typical posts something provocative in hope of getting a reaction. What a shock. I make a point of never discussing religion.
Dick, this is a forum, if I wanted to post and not get a reaction I would post on ITTV. and what is provocative? Besides by informing us all that you do not discuss religion , you have in fact discussed religion. What is it? does religion frighten you enough to rob you of your free will or do you feel uncomfortable about your own personal beliefs?
Who was that Wolves player, a budding international, who gave up a top career to become a Jehovah's Witness? Peter Somebody? He was only 21 or 22.
I abhor all religion, which is little more than superstition cobbled together, generally speaking, by people who need a crutch in life. Have you seen what Mormons actually believe in
Religion doesn't frighten me. I don't feel uncomfortable about my own personal beliefs. This is a Football forum and my Religious beliefs are none of your business. If you knew me Typical, which you don't, you will find that I am the most together person you are ever likely to meet. You do like posting things to elicit a reaction. By mentioning Jehovah Witnesses you knew you would get that reaction. Discuss involves close examination of a subject with interchange of opinions.
I am sure you are a really together person. I am just wondering why you felt you ought to mention that you don't talk about religion when no one asked you. This thread has been read 500 times and your the only one that felt the need to explain yourself - such is the power of religion. Or fear of religion as Bertrum Russel said. I am only concerned that you may be worrying unnecessarily about the fear of retribution perhaps in this life or the next. I can't see why JWs get such a reaction, as stated already I find them quite a sexy religion but the implication in your post was that you don't. I am not responsible for the views of others I was being quite sincere.
Maybe if they were sexy I'd give them more than 5 seconds. My heart sinks when I open the door and they are stood there.
If any religion kidnaps me, I want it to be the jovahs. 40 year old virgins with low self esteem is just as good as it gets.
