Swansea are likely to field less players than us from the equivalent fixture last season. http://www.southwales-eveningpost.co.uk/Swansea-City-hoping-end-unwanted-record/story-22951721-detail/story.html Interesting summer for both clubs, though only Saints were in meltdown apparently.
First article I read about Saints today: http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2014/sep/19/southampton-ronald-koeman-crisis-talk Balanced and without drama.
In between that and the Golden Goal feature you would almost think that The Guardian were out to do some half decent journalism..the bastards..i can't remember but did they join in the exodus/asset stripping/fire sale media frenzy?
Great article, thanks TSS. Yes, the tackle stats are revealing, showing that the pressing from deep is just as, if not more, effective than the high press we used under Poch. And I can't remember the last time Saints had so many quality options in every department, can't wait for Mané's first appearance next week.
I think they just reported it in their less than feverish Guardian way, but certainly there was no agenda, like that seen in certain other publications.
Yeah, Guardian is usually my go to news site for any non-football stuff. I dont know what they wrote about the exodus because i pretty much ignored any **** stirring article at the time, good to know they went about it with their usual aura of casual indifference and didnt buy into it overly much.
Tough game this, and it should be a good footballing match. Clyne and Bertrand will need to keep Dyer and Routledge in check if they can, as their pace will cause us a few problems. I like Swansea, and Garry Monk seems a real decent chap, and not a bad manager either. I'm glad both us and Swansea are proving Savage, and other ill-informed people who had us both down for relegation, wrong. Score draw for me.

He's still having to be chaperoned by the skipper though. Notice even when they change seats they are still together..? They may be all smiles, but...
