A week's holiday and you're going to watch telly..? Oh Beefy, learn to canoe, ski or windsurf, or something. Don't stay indoors.
I do on my other holidays. This is basically a week off to chill and hopefully watch the yanks get beat.
It's only friday, Saturday, Sunday!! I'm looking forward to it. I'll be working from home on Friday, the wife gets back from a school trip to France on Thursday night and has Friday off in lieu... So we will be glued to it.
Tbf, I have had the still existing offer to borrow my nephew's windsurfing board and stuff, for the last 10 years. I have all the necessary other gear from my sailing dinghy days, and can still fit in both my full wetsuit and shorty. Have I done it yet..? Skiing ruined my back, which is why I took up sailing in the first place, in the early 1980's. It built my back muscles up again as a bonus. And one day I would like to do some more canoeing and swimming. And there's that bloody windsurfing. I need a nearby lake..!
BREAKING: Alex Salmond resigns as leader of the Scottish National Party and as the First Minister of Scotland
Blimey. Well, it proves one thing. All he wanted to do was be in politics to gain Scottish independence.
Whatever your persuasion, I think you're devaluing him. He was actually quite an intelligent and erudite dickhead.
A bit extreme to resign. I gather Cameron was ready to resign, but then his error if the UK broke up was more serious. The Queen must be very relieved. She wouldn't have wanted to get near the end of the reign and see the kingdom broken up even though Salmond was in favour of keeping the Queen as head of state.
I really dislike Salmond, but even I felt bad for him when he was delivering his loser's speech! Not sure if Labour will support this English MPs only for English laws rule - Labour would find it very hard to pass through laws in England, but it's only fair. They should support it as Cameron opposed independence despite independence pretty much giving him the election 8 months in advance.
There is talk of having a new English parliament building...I'm not in favour of that. Another waste of public money when you consider how the Scottish Parliament buildings went over budget. Surely, we could have English sessions at the perfectly adequate building in London.
I liked when Salmond and Darling were debating and Salmond walked away from the stand to answer a question, could tell he was desperate to win.
My friend's grandson has been approached by Saints. Other clubs have been scouting him, including Chelsea and Portsmouth (cough, choke), but his Dad thinks that Saints being his local side will suit him best. Not sure how old he is, but shall watch with interest.
Very mature response. He's a very intelligent and skilled politician with excellent core values. 45% and 1.6m Scots voting for independence is quite remarkable considering the coverage they have had from the media.
Let's not forget Salmond has been leader of the SNP for 20 years now, in two different terms. He won't go away from politics altogether though, and I sincerely hope he is ready to pounce on the Westminster elite should the Devo-Max promises and timetable schedule promise be broken.
