Voltaire said "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it".

Quite shocking that you come onto this online forum and put forward your own point of view rather than tow the line. There's a few people on here that think their views are the only correct ones and therefore the only views worth listening to.

i think he is stuck in the past with the moronic anti-ashley brigades. yesterday's news really. we should accept the fact that there will always be people who will find a reason to blame MA even though in some cases he is acting in the best interests of his assets

not really, there's no one on this thread (that i can see anyway, apologies if someone proves otherwise) that has said "you can't post those views here"
some of us have just put our points across as he did. in a visceral way

Just cant stand these ridiculous articles and the morons who write them, Tonton always posts anti Ashley, pessimistic **** as well. I mean there's 2 months of the transfer window left and people are going crazy because we've only signed 3 players so far.

It's these revolutionaries that are causing all this trouble.

You get none of this with the A-Team. <whistle>

You can't say he has no ambition. His ambition is to remain in the PL and make a profit. Just because it does not fit with your own ambition, you can't just keep coming on drumming up support for an anti Ashley crusade. I absolutely loathe the bloke. His behaviour in his time here and contempt with which his regime treat our fans is unforgiveable for me. I long for his departure. However while I wait for that to happen, I'd much rather spend my time thinking positively rather than just reaching for the razor blades. Yes they are still regularly telling lies. Yes they are just generally shady businessmen. Like it or not they're in charge, it's his club and he can do what the frig he likes! It's not all bad, for him to make his profit, we need to retain PL status. Yes they are going about it in a risky manner selling off the core and signing unproven replacements, but it's still going to be interesting to watch whichever way it goes. I think many found in our year in the fizzy pop, that there is more to supporting a club than PL status, and spedning oodles of cash on players. Those of the older generation already knew this.

Not to mention you're jumping the gun. There may be some justification to slate him when the window closes, but it hasn't even fecking opened properly yet! And even then what does whining change? Nowt. There's more to life than the club. You honestly will be suicidal if you sit waiting for us to spend money under him. We've made a profit in probably all bar one window. That's how it is, get over it. Rant over, apologies.

On a side note we do need to spend big money on a striker! You don't get them cheap, just the way it is. Haha

I know, I know, dangerous words to be saying, but I guess I'm just rational? [I know you were only joking]

I'm still waiting on one of these ranters to name drop a superstar like "Splash the cash for Villa!", "Splurge for Mata!" or "get in early for Falcao!".
Everyone talks about the inflated prices for Henderson, Jones, Judas, etc., also talking about how almost everyone else isn't good enough for the toon, but then downplays the small % of stars as being deluted fantasy, so I'm still waiting for these people to suggest who they want Ashley to buy with this hoarded away money

Sorry disagree with just about everything the original poster said and like Smudger really fed up with these sorts of negative threads. There were none like this a week or so ago when we made three good signings so what has changed in the last week? FFS stop being so bloody fickle, the window only opens tomorrow and we have two months to pick up the two or three players we realistically need. The sort of comments made by the OP only serve to make Toon fans look ridiculous in the eyes of outsiders who are looking for excuses to have a laugh at us.

Whilst I am ranting I also want to say something about M Ashley's suppossed Greed! The guy has paid off our debts provided working capital and bankrolled the losses of the club for the last three seasons (yes I know they wouldn't have been as bad but for some of his decisions early on but that is besided the point) and has to all intents and purposes tied up about £200m of his personal wealth up in keeping this club going. He doesn't take a salary, dividends or charge interest on his loans to the club so he gets no income from the club or from his £200m for as long as this continues.

However, do you have any idea how much money he could be making with that £200m on the money markets, stock markets or invested in any number of financial instruments or business opportunities? Fooking shed loads ... and by now with re-investment and interest he would have probably made more than he could ever hope to re-coup even from selling the club for a 25% profit (which is unlikely to ever happen because he paid too much for it and has had to pump in too much extra).

He will have motives for doing what he is doing with NUFC but to claim that greed is his motivation is quite frankly idiotic.

Call me a scab if you want but personally I am thankful that he is running the club at this moment and not Shepherd because if the change had not happened we probably would not have a club right now. I am sure that there are better and more honest owners out there and I will not be sorry to see MA go but I can at least acknowledge what he has done for the good of our club and not just the bad.
