SKY Sources: QPR Bid £1.25m for Blackpool striker DJ Campbell Also, there is a comment from on the offish QPR website: The Club is aware of rumours circulating today with regards to the future of QPR Manager Neil Warnock. The Club would like to make it clear that Neil Warnock has not resigned from his post and is continuing to work hard behind-the-scenes ahead of the R's return to pre-season training next week. Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, Warnock was keen to set the record straight, commenting: "We've targeted a number of players during the last few weeks and although we've missed out on some, the Board are continuing to work hard to assist me in bringing new additions to the Football Club. "I'm confident that we'll have a few new players on board in the next couple of weeks. "With regards to my own position, I'm really excited about the challenge that lies ahead next season and I can't wait for pre-season training next week." We would once again advise QPR supporters to ignore idle speculation and reiterate that news is only official once it appears via our communication channels, including www.qpr.co.uk
West Ham have now been given permission to talk to DJ. \it would be a kick in the teeth for Blackpool if he opts to go there. Then again, why go from one Champs side to another, when he could be playing PL footie with us.
West Ham have a good chance of bouncing back up - and they have owners who, for all their faults, seem to care about the club. If they offer Campbell a better salary than us, I can see why he'd be tempted
For all their financial problems the west ham lot don't seem to learn about salaries and contracts - they've just signed Nolan on 5 years @55k ! so they will offer big salary. Your lot could outbid them on transfer fee though ?
And where was the 'We back Niel Warnock fully and will continue to do so during the coming season' comment from the board........?
There's a rumour going around that the Goons will replace NW with Mark Hughes...may be nothing to it...
Don't think mark Hughes would go to qpr if the goons where there if mittal was and a 20mill kitty then that will be more like it.
Can't see it either way Alan. Hughes left fulham to get further up the table, can't see that happening with us. Also if the mittals were in charge, why would they get rid of colin?
Sky sports are reporting that blackpool have granted permission for us to speak to Campbell following the 1.25m bid, however so have west ham and sunderland so if It's going to come down to wages I think its fair to say that Campbell won't be joining us
Sunderland won't buy him - £1.25mill is too cheap for their current tastes. If it's between WHU and us, it'll be a mixture of wages and what division he wants to play in that will sway him.
Last thing I read was DJ wants prem footie so WHU are out of the running, but Sunderland had reared their ugly head. I think we are in the box seat for this one though and I reckon he would do a good job for us too
Who wants to go to Sunderland? Its a dump. If we can offer DJ a decent wage and length of contract then he will sign, which is good news and great business at £1.25m as I rate him higher than Graham (£3.5m) and CMS (£4m??????? lol)
Cambell is the sort of player that would fit in with Warnock's attitude....Would be a good signing and he is from Hammersmith. Sign him up...
