She "made Britain great again" by allowing the importation of cheap low grade eastern European coal knowing the impact on British Coal miners jobs and sold North Sea gas to the French etc.
Do you really want to send your kids down the coal mines anyway? Not the best way to make a living. Don't like Maggie myself, but Typical Scouse Militant reaction on here, no other version of history or opinion is allowed. The spirit of dipper Derek Hatton still lives on
One of the most vile, evil and corrupt excuses of a human to have blighted our history. Destroyed huge swathes of our country for nothing more than petty feuds and greedy, selfish dogma. This vile creature does not deserve a tribute. She did not serve our country. She served her own selfish interests and the interests of her cronies. As the benefit of hindsight sheds light on the past we are seeing her more and more for the person she was; Hillsborough, Miner's strike lies, friendship with Saville and evidence of high-level cover ups. She turned this country into the London-centric place it is today and so many of today's problems are the fruition of the seeds of greed she sowed 30 odd years ago. I'm not a fan of the woman.
There are still parts of this country where our kids would be delighted with any opportunity to make a living rather than being branded as scroungers by Westminster.
You dim ****, there are no coal mines or gas fields in Liverpool, you're a typical child of thatcher with no comprehension what her policies did to the north of England, Scotland and South Wales. By the way using militant labour to excuse the old witches inhumanity against the people in poor mining village's and towns shows you for the chav you are.
Why mine coal in England, which is very expensive or import it in cheap, that means cheap coal and electricity for all, better to lose a few jobs then **** it up for everyone. If the coal mines were still going they would be run my east Europeans miners, cheaper and better workers than most fat English
Really. The kids would be playing computer games while Polish and immigrant kids worked the mines imo. Re Liverpool, it was such a badly run council, it expected special treatment and in effect extra funding for central government at the expense of other cities in the country. Liverpool expecting special treatment: who would have thought it, eh? And all the while Hatton was giving it large about socialism, he was a property developer in Cyprus ruining the environment for £££. Interesting character though, like Hatton
Never said there are mines in Slipperpool and you know it. Like lazy Scousers would ever get off their arse, move to a mining town and work there anyway As a union rep maybe! They talk a good game but they ain't getting their hands dirty. And where did I mention gas?
That statement there just goes to prove how ignorant you are of the current situation in many parts of the country. There are thousands of kids - and men and women - desperate to work but not enough vacancies. I pity them growing up in a country where government policies (of all colours) have consistently reinforced that large parts of this country don't matter.
Careful Ossie, you'll have to into the witness protection programme if you state your opinion on anything that happened in the 80s.
Isn't the tribute to Thatcher called . . . New Labour? Just a thought. I'm just asking questions . . .
Any opinion that disagrees with the Scousification of history. Is afcftw in the witness protection programme now? Like you say yourself in #65, anyone who disagrees with your version of history, can 'get one their bike'. More than narrative is not allowed, just ask John Barnes. His autobiography is banned in Liverpool.
The magic mushrooms and cocaine have shrivelled your brain LF, I handed you your arse on your Digger claims months ago. The man is a living legend at LFC and still lives in the area, his book is freely available here as it is anywhere else. How's Paul Canoville these days?
