Eden Prairie, MN (September 15, 2014) – Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson will fully participate in this week’s practices and meetings and is expected to play this Sunday in New Orleans.

The following statement is from Vikings Owners Zygi Wilf and Mark Wilf:

Today’s decision was made after significant thought, discussion and consideration. As evidenced by our decision to deactivate Adrian from yesterday’s game, this is clearly a very important issue. On Friday, we felt it was in the best interests of the organization to step back, evaluate the situation, and not rush to judgment given the seriousness of this matter. At that time, we made the decision that we felt was best for the Vikings and all parties involved.

To be clear, we take very seriously any matter that involves the welfare of a child. At this time, however, we believe this is a matter of due process and we should allow the legal system to proceed so we can come to the most effective conclusions and then determine the appropriate course of action. This is a difficult path to navigate, and our focus is on doing the right thing. Currently we believe we are at a juncture where the most appropriate next step is to allow the judicial process to move forward.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and support Adrian’s fulfillment of his legal responsibilities throughout this process.

So basically we got hammered,so **** ourself. So despite a case against Adrian which is on going and despite him saying sorry for his actions( basically admitting it). We will let a guy that abused a 4yr old play the next game as we really need him. I'm sorry but that is a disgrace.

I'll put it more bluntly, Vikings can't win without him so in essence condone physical child abuse just because he is an athlete/sportsman and will put him on the field untill an external party(a judge, commissioner etc.) puts a halt to it. Hypocrites.

Any other person who is seen frequently in the media would be fired or ostracized for this kind of behavior. Apology or not, Peterson should be spanked publicly and on camera for being a massive douchebag.

Isn't the issue not whether he did it or not, but whether what he did was a criminal act or not? I guess even if he has been charged, he is still 'innocent' until and unless he is convicted? I'm not saying I'm condoning it, I'm just trying to understand what, if any, moral justification there is for continuing to play him.

Okay, more details from this article: http://houston.cbslocal.com/2014/09/12/exclusive-details-on-adrian-peterson-indictment-charges/

Peterson also allegedly said via text message to the child’s mother that he “felt bad after the fact when I notice the switch was wrapping around hitting I (sic) thigh” and also acknowledged the injury to the child’s scrotum in a text message, saying, “Got him in nuts once I noticed. But I felt so bad, n I’m all tearing that butt up when needed! I start putting them in timeout. N save the whooping for needed memories!”

And if you need more, there are pictures from the Houston Police, please don't make me post them here...

The Vikings' hands are somewhat tied. If they deactivate him each week, they are essentially paying him for not playing. If they suspend him, he could appeal and even then the maximum time is four weeks. I personally don't think it is fair to release him unless he is convicted.

In the Rice case, the NFL let Baltimore off the hook by booting him out of the league. They aren't moving as quickly on Peterson. I don't think it's unreasonable for the Vikings to want to wait and see how things develop before making a decision to release him. So while all of this is playing out, letting him play in some ways makes the most sense.

Yep the guy needs banning. It's basically saying child abuse isn't as bad as hitting a woman.

What he needs is anger management/parental counselling.

Heck, he grew up in Texas, I'm sure things like that are the norm over there. Unless you particularly hate/disrespect your father, chances are you're gonna continue the methods that you yourself experienced growing up.

Nope abusing a child is the same as hitting a women. He needs banning like Rice, it' s weird how no one said "Rice needs anger management" they just banned him. It's because Adrian is a big named player and plays for a side that badly needs him.

Well in my case it's because I don't know who Rice is or what happened in his situation.

Initially suspended for 2 games by the NFL, when the video came out the Ravens cut him and the NFL turned the 2game suspension into an indefinite suspension. But only after the video came out 2 weeks ago. Goodell said he had not received footage before that, whilst the police said they did send the tapes in February or March, right after the incident. The commish is losing a lot of face this month.

NFL name gets dragged through the mud again.

http://www.keloland.com/newsdetail.cfm/cardinals-rb-arrested-on-assault-charges/?id=169520

AZ - Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer has been arrested on aggravated assault charges in connection with two altercations at his home in late July involving a 27-year-old woman and an 18-month-old child

Yet another sick bastard( if confirmed true). The assault involves a fracture so guessing it was bad.

*Edit, fracture was to the woman and he is also being charged with throwing a shoe at the 18 month old child. Disgusting.

* Edit 2, the violence happened in July so it doesn't look good for the NFL again. Covering up crap again probably.

https://twitter.com/iamC_Mart/status/512402419443978240

Dwyer speaking up against Rice and domestic violets(violence), makes the guy even worse.

I saw a big Owl sitting on a post as I was coming back from Cricket at Hove on the train once. They are unique creatures, amazing.
