Got it -------------------------------------- Skysports.com understands Craig Gardner is undergoing a medical at Sunderland ahead of signing a three-year contract at the Stadium of Light. Gardner has been busy finalising a move to Wearside in order to return to the Premier League following Birmingham City's relegation last season. It was revealed earlier this week that the 24-year-old was due to hold talks with the Black Cats on Wednesday and he has now accepted an offer to join Steve Bruce's side. Sunderland are understood to be paying in the region of £6million for Gardner, who joined Birmingham from local rivals Aston Villa 18 months ago. Busy He was the club's top scorer last season with 10 goals and he netted in Blues' 2-0 home victory over Sunderland in April. Gardner's impending arrival on Wearside will help to cushion the blow of the recent departure of young midfielder Jordan Henderson to Liverpool. Black Cats boss Bruce has been busy in the transfer market this week and splashed out an initial £8.1million to sign teenage striker Connor Wickham from Ipswich Town on Wednesday. Bruce has also agreed deals for Keiren Westwood and Gardner's ex-Birmingham team-mate Sebastian Larsson, and is keen on Manchester United trio Wes Brown, Darron Gibson and John O'Shea. .
