WWN knows it is important for Ireland to be an open, welcoming and integrated society but the reality on the ground can often be radically different. Reports of racist attacks were up by 114% for the first six months of the year. In our latest ground breaking study we look at Irelandâs counties and ask the question: How racist is your county? 1. Not Racist At All Really (Racist Rating: 1-3) Trailblazing counties such as Sligo, Wexford, Derry, Wicklow, Kilkenny, Offaly, Longford, Fermanagh, Laois and Monaghan are surprisingly not that racist. Modern Ireland is alive and well in these counties where it is quite common for parents to admonish their children for âstaring at the black babyâ. Old people, known the world over for at times hilariously racist comments, are well behaved in these counties as they refuse to leaves their homes out of fear. A sign of integration is the high density of Chinese and Indian takeaways in these counties. 2. Ah A Bit Now In Fairness (Racist Rating: 4-6) Mayo, Kerry, Galway, Limerick, Meath, Tyrone, Cavan, Down, Westmeath, Roscommon and Louth are quintessentially âquietly racistâ, utilising a well worn technique of telling their friend âdonât look now butâ, residents of these counties have tried to repress their racist tendencies but canât help but think that maybe, just maybe, Ireland would be a bit better if, well, you know, âtheyâ werenât here. 3. And Let Me Tell You About Those Nigerians (Racist Rating: 7-9) Leitrim, Dublin, Waterford, Tipperary, Antrim, Armagh, Donegal, Carlow, Kildare, Clare, are all guilty of knowing everything that is wrong with this country is the fault of the Nigerians. There is no sugar coating it, communities have been decimated by the Nigerianâs ability to set up Irish Water, event Irish emigration to Australia and putting all those ****e shows on 3e. Chances are people in these counties refuse to set foot in foreign manâs taxi, because, well, obviously theyâre going to kill you. 4. You Know It Wouldnât Be A Bad Idea To Round Them Up (Racist Rating: 10) Cork stands alone as Irelandâs most racist county. However, their rise to the top of the racism ranks is due in no small part to the great racism boom of the 80s when it was considered acceptable and normal to be racist. Cork, afraid Dublin would steal its thunder and its women, set about becoming the best county at racism, a trait which has continued to this day.
My county of Renfrewshire is a fairly open place with just the most uneducated displaying occassional racism - overall, it's pretty good. If you meant country, then I'm sure we'll be awright once ER leaves and as long as that new guy on the forum doesn't come back from whatever Canton he lives in.
I wouldn't say I'm particularly racist, but as I am a white Jute with a bloodline dating back to the 4th century, I can rightly lord it over everyone. There is, of course, a master race, and I am part of it.
A Dublin cabbie once asked me what I made of all the black faces in Dublin I told him I'd only seen about half a dozen. He replied "dats haalf a dozen tow many". I there for naturally assumed that everyone in Ireland is a racist bastard.
**** sake man One of them was probably Samantha Mumba and, in her day, she was basically a sex cyborg fae the Planet Hump
They are. And xenophobic. However they work their way into other nations as immigrants like papish creeping tendrils to try and bring us down. The ****s. But apart from that, lovely people, they like a laff and a drink and are generally good craic.
