Funny how 'no' is being seen as negative and 'yes' as positive - funny that!

Do any of you lot think there will be a backlash down here after this vote?

I suspect there will be regardless of which way the vote goes. If they vote yes which i think they will, I think there will be a lot of angry disgruntled people down here. So personally I hope they make it as hard as possible for salmond and the fools the belived his bullshit. They wont get into the EU. Which will mean tariffs on all the goods they export. Their people wont be able to move and work freely round europe. The EU wont want them as it will open a massive can worms for other countries with populations that want independence and wont make it easy for scotland in the hope of quashing any ideas of independence in their own countries.. They will lose their fishing quotas by not being in the EU. They wont get a currency union, as it poses a massive risk for us essentially bank rolling their debt with no control of their spending. The Shetland islands may want independence from Scotland if the Majority of the islanders vote no, so salmond then loses most of his oil.

If they vote no and get this additional powers theyve promised. Then again we get a raw deal out of it. Their MP's still get to vote on things which effect us and get more money spent on the population than we do.

I think whichever way this goes i dont think this island is going to be very hospitable place.

Don't agree. He's Scottish so he's entitled to his opinion, even if he's not entitled to vote (which I suspect he might be as he's recently bought a hotel up there)

Business ownership is not a voting entitlement as you well know!

Sure, he's welcome to his opinion - just don't present it as though that is the way you will vote when you don't have a vote in the first place.

I like this idea. We can call the new territory "The Anglo-Welsh territory of former Scotalovakia". As a territory they won't have representation in parliament.

The only decent bit worth keeping hold of is Shetland whose inhabitants are staunch Unionists sitting on all that Oil.

They probably can but only if they can invent some money quickly to pay for the ticket.
