Chaps, I think we've been a little unfair to our chubby little friend. He upset us when he said that he wanted to be remembered as the guy who got Fulham promoted. I think we all jumped to the conclusion that he meant promotion to the PL, but clearly he was talking about promotion to the Championship. If he's lucky, it might happen next year. *snigger*
£11m? Thank you very much Ross for convincing Fulham to pay such stupid money for a one season wonder ... however, Fulham will come good as soon as they sack Magath, which hopefully they won't do until they reach the Conference Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Really still do not understand the hate towards him... Saved us from relegation last year and scored almost 30 goals for us, how many players have done that in recent years at champ level. Get off the guy's back, we got 11m for him which was a great deal for our club. Sadly I still think we miss him in our starting lineup. It seems poor form to keep going on about it, its in the past.
We wouldn't have played with ten men and either a striker or a team playing to different strengths would have scored perhaps more goals. Did you say the same when beckford or Bechio left? See what I mean? The "hate" is all about how the badge kissing, child abandoning Cnut stung us for improved contract after improved contract and lead disharmony to the dressing room by leaking stuff to the press and the now invisible lust.
I,m with Josh, kept us up almost single handed last year. Then moved on for more money, of course none of us would change employers for that, and made us a large profit. He is history now.
Firstly, I don't like comparing playing football to working in a 9-5 job or shift work. But if he was in a proper job he'd have been sacked by now. Also remember he was nearly sold because he had a ****e start to his career here, but the club IMO stayed loyal to him. Anyway it's nice to see fulham struggling, long may it continue...
We should wish him luck but not when we meet Fulham. There is a bit of nastiness on this thread totally unjustified. He never said bad words about the fans. So let's keep it civil.
I do take pleasure from whats happening at Fulham. But its more because little clubs like that should not have been in the Prem in the first place, we should be instead as we are a far better club (arrogant, moi?) - and its great to see them spending £11m of the parachute money on someone worth at most half that, and not getting the results And no point in going to the Fulham board to take the P, there's never anyone there On Ross, I am neutral, I think he did his best while at the club, especially latterly. I think we relied too much on him and that was never good, hopefully we can weld a more balanced team from what we now have
We may have had a different striker, different system but fact of the matter is that most of the goals he scored were single handedly created by him as well, it wasn't just the fact that he was our best player by far but it seemed like he was the ONLY player capable last season. I really honestly don't think we would've been better off without him and even in our team right now we're not better off without him. He served us well in his time at the club. Every contract he got was deserved, he still wasn't the highest paid player at the club when he left by all accounts (Hunt and Warnock apparently). Everything away from leeds united I don't care about.
I started that ages ago because maccer wasn't scoring, but stopped after his first goal, but I couldn't resist going back when smithy got sent off..........not really like me though Xbpod ..I usually stay on the Leeds Utd board only..
I will be over for the Fulham game just to tell him how I feel.........let's have an opinion poll to see who thinks he'll get a great welcome and who doesn't....
