Certainly not this season. Premiership season, only the Manchester City game comes to mind. The Championship the season prior to that, was a strangely poor season, regardless of the fact we won the league. A lucky win against Huddersfield gave us a winning start, but we managed to beat opposition along the way, but it generally a poor showing....can't think of a good game, although Whittingham's hatrick against Wolves, suggests a good game! Terrible lack of atmosphere on Saturday, even worse last night, how could Ole have got it so wrong?
That first half hour against Norwich was the best I can remember City playing for a long time. Before that, beating Blackburn 3-0 at the CCS toward the end of our promo season is the only thing that stands out. I think we'd already tanked them 4-1 up there earlier.
They didn't play well that day; just rode their luck and took their chances. They haven't put on a complete performance IMO since the swansea game when they won 1-0. They were cohesive, tenacious, organised and outplayed swansea. They also played very well for the whole game versus Man Utd in the 2-2 draw. There were patches of good stuff versus Sunderland at home and Southampton/WBA/Everton away but apart from that they have been truly woeful save bizarrely the first 30 minutes v Norwich. Even the PL wins v Norwich & Fulham they were lucky that the opposition couldn't find the net, and had Marshall to thank.
