On March 26th, in an interview with Burnsy, Ehab said he wanted the 19.04 chant to continue as it was definitely improving the atmosphere in the ground. Ironic eh?
I never really got why people were getting so riled up about the name change to be honest. Any number of clubs have changed their name in the past - does their make their current support any less valid? I agree that it's crazy that Allam never gave a coherent reason he wanted to do it but I don't think the idea itself is too crazy. If your wife changed her name by deed poll would you stop loving her, divorce her?
But thats the difference, different groups protested up to the ruling But Allam is objecting to the ruling by the governing body
What is frustrating me to hell is there one man holding the club back and we all know who it is. If he dropped his dumb idea and use his time to promote and market the club in the correct manner he probably wouldn't have 4,000 empty seats at a game. I just can't see how the club can go any further with him in charge.
You can here it on the sky coverage that the booing started before 1904. However it has been transformed into a protest song. Its not just a normal city song at the moment. I do feel TygerTyger has a point with what he says about Bruce asking for calm. Rumors about him going to Newcastle will make people nervy as we all want him to carry on his good work here. For that reason alone it is would be a good idea to do as he asks. I suspect many tried to stop any protest before they began for this reason.
I agree with you. And I agree Allam should just drop the name change (unless he has some massive reason not too that we've not been told about). But, if the FA do a U-turn (and they are even more flaky then he is) will you say "ok the FA say change the name" or will you protest?
To be honest Im not sure but I think peoples response to that situation will be influenced by the fact that Allam never accepted the FAs originals decision so why should they accept the new one, petty I know but thats how a lot of people will think.
What if you changed her name? Would she protest? She changes her surname (usually) when you marry her, this is the business name. The one she uses whilst the assets (usually your) are stripped when the business fails. If you fancy renaming her try it tonight. When she's straddled across your John Thomas riding it like a cock hound on a mechanical rodeo in Benidorm. Call out the name you fancy, maybe her sister's name, maybe even her best friends name. Just shout one out as she reaches the top her her game, when she's at her peak. I'm sure you'll be fine & she'll be cool about it "it's just a name, do you fancy a fart before you roll over & go to sleep" Maybe spend the rest of today ring fencing your assets just in case.
If my daughter changes her name to Georgia Tigers, I'll disown her. I'm not actually married by the way, been together 24 years, but saw no reason for an unnecessarily name change...
But the original question would he stop loving his wife if she changed her name? Which OLM replied probably then you said "Must be a Worry for his daughter" but the question was never about his daughter.
It's nothing to do with Steve Bruce's career of course we want him to continue however the identity of the club comes first The boo-ers are being short-sighted, entirely negative and acting out of fear that their expensive new toys will be taken back to the shop If they wish to support the name-change then they should come up with an altenative chant or song
