Ozil is awesome. I have no problem with him, I just think he's being played out of position. Good breakdown Cini - that gave me a good laugh this morning. Too much Pot-Kettle-Black on this page :)

Infact it's worth noting that ozils 7 goals and 15 assists is very similar to silvas 8 goals 13 assists. And these two have better stats than any other number ten in England.

So for a player that some are trying to claim has flopped and or hasn't been good enough - he is statistically amongst the top two in his position out of the English teams. He also contributed more goals and assists combined to our team than any player bar Ramsey and giroud.

For a first season in a new team in a new country he has done amazingly well. His stats speak for themselves.

Anyone who doesn't think he has been quality for us either has ridiculous expectations or doesn't watch much football.

You can see with his touch, his passes, the way he controls the ball, his style is beautiful yet lethargic. He makes things look effortless whilst still putting in loads of effort. A true genius of the game.

His weakness is the defensive side of his game, but as a number ten he doesn't have to do much defensively. It's only because he is being played out of position that he is having any difficulty.

All his strong attributes will be worth nothing as long as Wenger keeps playing him on the wings, if we continue playing him on the wing, then he will be useless-ineffective for us. He needs to be played in his position.

Ozil is one of our best players but I would put Sanchez as our best. Although Ozil excels in certain areas over Sanchez and the others, but Sanchez is the most complete player we have. Actually he is probably the most versatile attacking player in the league. What a valuable player we have.

Last year we were in for Di Maria but Ozil became available....imagine if he hadnt become available then we might have had Di Maria now AND fabregas (as now ozil blocking him). Ouch!

Ozil is a top top top quality signing, I have no regrets that we got him, if we play him in his position, he will shine like the brightest star in the sky on a nice warm breezy night when you're feeling all warm and fuzzy inside as you cuddle your sweet girlfriend tenderly kissing and caressing her cheeks.......

I love Ozil... hence why I predict him to score in every single game in the prediction league (and will continue to do so).

There's something I like about quiet, shy players who get seemingly wrongly convicted of not caring or trying when they do by some fans and the press.

Whenever I see him looking happy or smiling, or posting something on twitter showing he cares it makes my heart feel warm and fuzzy.

Sod that... in an ideal world we'd have

    ------------Dm-------------Fabregas---------

    Sanchez------------Ozil--------------Di Maria

Ramsay is quality but Fabregas is a cut above. With that midfield 5 the opposition would never see ball. It would either be passed by them with ease or ran past them with pace.

Not really. We can put him anywhere in the front three positions as well as in the centre of midfield as a playmaker or advanced attacking central midfielder. He really is a versatile player. But his work-rate is exemplary too. He never stops moving and harrying when not on the ball. Great addition and worth the money paid for him.

The problem with Ozil is that he might be at his best as a number 10 but then the whole team suffers as a result. 4141/433 is better for the team imo, especially in big games. Ozil has to adapt or be dropped.

Just seen Ozil's heatmaps in the last two games. Still think he's only playing poorly because he's playing out of position?

I'm pretty sure that if you had a heat map from playing at number 10, more touches would be central, and there would be more touches overall

I thought so too. So I looked at some of Ozil's best games in a 4231 last year.

    4-1 vs Norwich

Özil is getting out of lots of flack due to being played on the wing. If you look at him you'll see he has a pretty free licence to drift all over the pitch. I'm all for patience and am convinced he'll come good but, jeez, he really is playing a bit ****. If we did start him smack bang in the centre it may give him a psychological boost but lets not pretend he's not getting opportunities to influence games.

For a neutral (I don't see Arsenal as a rival, I like Arsenal) the frustrating thing about Ozil seems to be his mentality. He has great ability but isn't decisive enough, especially in big games. One thing that say David Silva does is drag his team out of poor performances.
